Swiss luxury watch brand Gerald Charles has opened its first shop-in-shop in Taiwan, accelerating its expansion in the market less than a year after making its debut there.
The dedicated space is located on the ground floor of Chung Mei Watch’s Nanjing store in Taipei. It follows Gerald Charles’ entry into Taiwan at the same location in December last year, and a subsequent expansion to the retailer’s Tongling store during the summer.
The Nanjing store has enlarged its ground floor to accommodate the shop-in-shop, which has been designed according to Gerald Charles’ latest international retail concept. The space introduces clients to the company’s history and the design legacy of its late founder, Gérald Charles Genta, alongside its Maestro and Masterlink collections.
Gerald Charles was founded in Geneva in 2000 as Genta’s final independent watch brand. The designer sold the company to the Ziviani family in 2003 but remained its designer-in-chief until 2011, leaving an archive that continues to inform its collections.
The privately owned watchmaker does not disclose revenue, but has reported double-digit growth during 2026. It produces about 2,000 watches a year, supported by a team of approximately 40 people. Chairman Franco Ziviani told Swiss Watches Magazine that the company is targeting annual growth of about 10%, with a longer-term ambition of producing around 5,000 watches a year.
