Britney Spears tells fans: ‘All my jewellery was stolen’

Singer Britney Spears has posted a video on Instagram to show her followers that her jewellery collection was 'stolen'.

In an Instagram video just posted to her account, Britney Spears can be seen pulling open several velvet-lined draws in a white wooden jewellery box. “Look, show you guys for real, all my jewellery was stolen,” she says, opening empty draw after empty draw. “I’m scared. It’s all gone.”

The singer, who won her independence from a conservatorship in November 2021, goes on to reveal that the only piece that hadn’t been taken was a pendant shaped like “Mother Mary”, and that she had been terribly shaken up by the apparent theft of her sentimental pieces. “It’s hard to buy new now because I’m scared it will go missing,” she posted, of her collection. “So I buy it cheap and fake, but it’s hard because some of my pieces were originally made for me…and my baby cross that I wore since I was 4 is gone…it’s so thin.”

Just a few hours later, without shedding any more light on the theft or whether she had contacted the authorities, Spears returned to Instagram to show fans a black beaded choker and shared that she was “thinking about getting a tongue ring.”

In another previous post, in which Spears said that she had been “sick for two months with a stupid cold,” the Baby One More Time singer said she was also “scared of the outside world, because god forbid I break a foot and someone calls an ambulance so I don’t go out much,” which seemed to refer to a recent incident during which she injured herself at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
