Cate Blanchett wore a custom made pearl necklace at the 2023 BAFTA Awards last night as she picked up the gong for Best Actress for her role as Lydia Tár in the movie Tár.
Blanchett, the face of Louis Vuitton’s high jewellery collections, wore a Louis Vuitton pearl necklace featuring a 23.78-carat repurposed Nigerian tourmaline as well as hand-threaded rows of Tahitian pearls.
Designed by Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Jewellery, Francesca Amfitheatrof, the tourmaline subtly echoes the lines of a Louis Vuitton trunk. Amfitheatrof commented in an Instagram post: “Your effort to focus on rewearing and repurposing led us to this necklace. Using Tahitian pearls, gold, diamonds and a 23.78 carats Nigerian Tourmaline, all from existing pieces. I loved making this necklace for you!”
Blanchett combined the necklace with Tahitian pearl earrings and a white gold and diamond ring from the Louis Vuitton Stellar High Times jewellery collection.
