Chaumet launches the Liens Inséparables high jewellery collection

Place Vendôme jeweller Chaumet has unveiled its latest high jewellery collection at Paris Couture. Named Liens Inséparables, the offering brings new life to the diamond Liens motif which first appeared in 1907

By Joshua Hendren

It was 1907 when the diamond Liens cross first made its appearance in the work of Place Vendôme jeweller Chaumet. But it wasn’t until 1977 when the interwoven motif that gracefully binds jewels together came into its own with the arrival of the first Les Liens bijoux. Now, the Liens finds new life through the maison’s latest high jewellery collection.

Presented at Paris Couture week, Liens Inséparables explores new ways of updating this classic design – first created to capture the romance shared between Empress Joséphine and Napoléon Bonaparte.

Described as a “voluptuous embrace of two souls that unite and intertwine,” Liens Inséparables introduces clients and fans alike to two heavenly high jewellery parures.

The first: a melody of diamond and white gold comprising a pair of earrings that unfurl majestically in a cascade of diamonds, a ring with a central stone balanced by gem-set curves, and one truly decadent diadem.

Alongside these pieces comes two necklaces, one short and the other in a négligée form – a signature motif of the house since the Maharaja of Indore’s father ordered a double diamond pear necklace to celebrate his accession to the Indore throne in 1911.

Calibrated sapphire comes interspersed amidst diamond

The delights don’t stop there however – there’s a second set of jewels. This time the maison’s signature blue is introduced in strips of calibrated sapphire interspersed amidst diamond for a contemporary reinterpretation of sentimental jewellery.
