Victoire de Castellane's new collection of extraordinary jewels for Dior Joaillerie, launched at Paris Couture this week, plays with house codes in gold mesh and vibrant coloured gemstones, from diamonds and rubies to sapphires and emeralds
By Joshua Hendren
Victoire de Castellane, the prolific artistic director behind Dior Joaillerie, is a master of creating covetable jewellery creations, and her newest collection, Dearest Dior, is no exception.
One of her most awe-inspiring and technically trailblazing to date, the new high jewellery range is inspired by the motifs of lace, which are transposed into 77 stunning pieces that showcase the greatest of jewellery-making know-how.
Released a decade after Dear Dior and five years after 2018’s Dior Dior Dior, the range cleverly builds upon de Castellane’s past work – weaving whimsy, fantasy and surrealism into each precious talisman.
Playing with themes of couture, the Dearest Dior collection features remarkably delicate gold mesh spun to wrap the body like lace on the skin. Stitched diamonds, flowers, tassels and sequins perpetuate this continuing dialogue between the house’s jewellery line and couture creations. Elsewhere, floral marvels draw on Dior Galons with plant designs in homage to the founding couturier’s love of gardening.
But, perhaps what makes this collection so special is its bright and bold colour palette, emphasised by an abundance of cuts and unique settings that catch the light in glorious ways from every angle.
Below, discover more of the greatest jewellery hits from de Castellane’s Dearest Dior, from extravagantly embellished neck candy to earrings, bracelets and rings in full bloom.
