“I thought of the finest wedding I have ever attended, the wedding of my brother Frederik Bille Brahe and his wife Caroline Bille Brahe,” says Sophie Bille Brahe on the inspiration behind her new jewellery collection with luxury e-tailer Net-A-Porter. “Festive, ceremonious, and unceremonious at the same time. I wanted to create a collection that encapsulated Caroline’s wedding outfit. Timeless pieces that can be worn while dancing on a wedding night, yet right for everyday wear.”
Raised in Copenhagen, Bille Brahe founded her eponymous fine jewellery line in 2011 to great acclaim. Her debut release, which featured the Croissant de Lune earring, a diamond earring that would become her signature design, acquired a cult following within months of launching. Since then, the designer has emerged as one of jewellery’s rising stars, with an unparalleled talent for storytelling through precious metals, diamonds and pearls.
Speaking of pearls, this latest capsule features plenty of them as Bille Brahe elevates the June birthstone through a playful, contemporary lens.
A signature graduating flower pattern that features throughout the line-up has been dreamt up in nine modern pearl styles, from the cascading Grande Marguerite de Mariage earrings in 14-carat gold to the Grand Peggy necklace with two-rows of freshwater pearls.
“As the ‘Queen of the Pearl’, Sophie Bille Brahe really stands out as the perfect choice for brides who are searching for a traditional look but with a modern twist. Using inspiration from our bestselling styles, we worked with Sophie Bille Brahe to create a beautiful capsule that oozes femininity,” says Billie Faricy-Hyett, head of buying for non-apparel at Net-A-Porter, on the exciting partnership. “Key focuses are the earrings, which are the easiest way to elevate wedding dressing, and a personal highlight for me is the incorporation of flower motifs that give the pieces a whimsical and feminine feel which we just love.”
