Supermodel Gigi Hadid chose Messika last night as she walked the red carpet for the premiere of Firebrand at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
She wore the Roaring Diamonds necklace and bracelet from the Paris est une Fête collection. She combined this with the house’s Illusionnistes ear clip, the Glam’Azone ring (previously worn by Beyoncé), the Gloria double ring and a stunning pink and yellow diamond Toi & Moi heart-shaped ring.
The original concept when Valérie Messika launched her eponymous jewellery collection was to base it around the idea of tattoos, and create a brand that was more inspired by fashion than the jewellery trends of the time.
The early pieces were inexpensively priced between €500 and €5000 which attracted a dedicated following among a younger customer who could wear her diamonds as everyday objects.
Messika’s relationship with Beyoncé drove the brand to global success. With it, a huge new audience for Messika. Beyoncé was first photographed wearing one of Messika’s Glam‘Azone double rings in front of the Mona Lisa in 2014 showcasing the brand to a global audience.
Gigi Hadid formerly featured in the brand’s advertising. Valérie Messika commented: “I’m always looking to find women for my advertising who embody the fashion world. That’s why I chose Gigi.”
