Swiss watchmaker Longines has made the Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Lawrence its latest 'ambassador of elegance'. Here's all you need to know...

Following in the immaculately shod footsteps of fellow actors Kate Winslet and Regé-Jean Page, Jennifer Lawrence has just been announced as the newest ‘Ambassador of Elegance’ for the watchmaker Longines.
Of her newest role, the Academy Award winner and star of the X-Men and Hunger Games franchises, said: “Longines is rooted in a legacy of innovational quality trusted by some of history’s greatest trailblazers. I am thrilled to join the Longines family and look forward to our partnership in the years ahead!” Aside from acting, Lawrence also established her own production company, Excellent Cadavar, in 2018 and has produced her latest film, Causeway, in which she stars as a wounded army veteran struggling with a return to civilian life.
“Jennifer has the ability to imbue every character she plays with reality and authenticity, and off-screen, this translates into an elegance that is both natural and relatable,” says Matthias Breschan, Longines’ CEO, of the actor’s appointment as an ‘ambassador of elegance (a role which takes it cue from the brand’s motto, ‘elegance is an attitude’). “She is an inspiration to girls and women of all ages and we are proud to welcome her to the Longines family.”
And what a ‘family’ that is. Longines currently counts championship equestrians, Olympic gold medallists and trailblazing mountain adventurers, as well as other much-lauded actors and directors, amongst its roster of superstar ‘faces’. As an Oscar, BAFTA, SAG-Award, and Golden Globe winner, who is also a passionate advocate for gender equality, and who sits on the board of the non-partisan organisation Represent.Us that works to fight corruption, Lawrence should fit right in.
