Diamonds and emeralds were big at the Bafta's in London on Sunday. Rebel Wilson hosted wearing Bulgari, and other attendees were Lady Gaga in vintage Tiffany, Daisy Ridley in Bulgari, Rachel Zegler in Tiffany and Florence Pugh sporting a Maria Tash septum ring.

Lady Gaga went for Tiffany diamonds at this year’s BAFTAs, pairing her green velvet dress with an archive emerald and diamond necklace from 1999, plus a Schlumberger emerald and diamond bracelet, earrings and ring, all with an embellished leaf motif.
White diamonds and emeralds seemed the most popular red carpet gemstones, as the BAFTAs were back with an in-person event at the Royal Albert Hall.
Hosted by Rebel Wilson, things got off to a glamorous start. Wilson paired a sequinned gown from Giambattista Vialli with Bulgari high jewellery earrings in white gold, plus a high jewellery platinum ring set with a step-cut sapphire, rock crystal and further white diamonds. The Roman jeweller was the official jewellery and watch partner for the event.
From then on, diamonds and emeralds amped up the drama, with a host of celebrities choosing the gemstones to complete their outfits. Ariana DeBose, who scored a best supporting actress BAFTA for her role in West Side Story, also wore Bulgari diamonds for the ceremony. She chose a pair of 18k white gold ‘Diva’s Dream’ earrings with pear, brilliant and round-cut diamonds, plus two diamond-encrusted high jewellery rings.
Also dressed in sunshine yellow, actress Wunmi Mosaku chose a pair of hooped diamond earrings and two diamond rings by Chopard. Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley opted for a diamond Bulgari necklace set with a 6.02 carat cushion-cut emerald. This was matched with a diamond ring in the form of two snakes, each with emerald eyes. The green gemstone was a particular favourite of Elizabeth Taylor, one of Bulgari’s most renowned Hollywood clients.
Naomi Campbell added green and white lustre to her floor-length midnight gown by Burberry. The supermodel chose a one-of-a-kind bracelet in white gold, set with diamonds, emeralds and onyx, plus matching contemporary earrings, all by London jeweller, Fawaz Gruosi. But best actress BAFTA winner Joanna Scanlon opted for all-white diamonds to accompany her all-black ensemble. Her rings, bracelet and earrings were by Solange Azagury-Partridge.
Nominated for a best supporting actress gong, the singer and actress Jessie Buckley shone in responsibly sourced diamond jewels, this time from De Beers. She adorned her monochrome gown with De Beers’ ‘Idalia’ high jewellery necklace, which is named for the Greek expression, ‘behold the sun’. It comprises 172 prong-set, pear-shaped, marquise and round-cut diamonds, weighing just under 40 carats in total. Diamond earrings, ear cuffs and three diamond rings added extra wattage.
Lashana Lynch, who scooped the EE Rising Star award, dazzled in a pair of white gold and diamond ear clips created by the trailblazing Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. She also added one of its archive pieces – a platinum, diamond and emerald bracelet from 1966. As an official ambassador for Omega, the Bond actress finished her look with one of the watchmaker’s Constellation 29mm timepieces.
Rachel Zegler, who made her debut alongside Ariana DeBose in West Side Story last year, picked a platinum, diamond and tsavorite necklace from Tiffany & Co’s Blue Book high jewellery collection, along with a matching pair of drop earrings and three different white diamond rings.
And, proving that diamonds can still be punk, Florence Pugh revealed a glittering Maria Tash septum ring and feathery Boucheron diamond earrings, along with a Carolina Herrera mini dress. Not to be outdone, actor Kodi Smit-McPhee chose a diamond panther brooch and two white diamond rings by Cartier for his red-carpet appearance. A Quiet Place actress Millicent Simmonds sparkled in a judicious handful of delicate Cartier diamonds, too. Her her bold floral gown took centre stage, accessorised by dainty Reflection de Cartier pieces.
