Lewis Hamilton arrived at the Miami Grand prix drivers press conference bedecked in jewellery in defiance of F1's drivers jewellery ban. He wore a multitude of IWC watches as well as rings, necklaces and earrings and Cartier bangles.

F1 have threatened to ban Hamilton from racing if he continues to wear his jewellery. In response to their latest threat Hamilton turned up to their press conference wearing eight necklaces, three IWC watches, including his IWC pilot watch and stunning new ‘turquoise’ Petronas green IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph 41 Edition. Added to this he wore two earrings, as well as a nose stud and two Cartier diamond and gold Juste En Clou bracelets.
For the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, IWC Schaffhausen and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team have unveiled the first official team watch.
Crafted from lightweight and durable grade 5 titanium, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
The watch features a black dial with printing and luminescence in the team’s signature Petronas green colour. The watch is available only from the IWC website.
As F1’s biggest star Hamilton appears to be taking a stand against motor racing’s governing body.
Well known for his jewellery, Hamilton wore a unique Cartier brooch to his knighthood investiture at Windsor Castle in December 2021.
