Some watchmakers are all about adrenalin sports. Others take travel or exploration as their main theme. Audemars Piguet sets itself apart with its dedication to music, a programme which began in 2019 and has seen the venerable Swiss brand partnering with the likes of the Montreux Jazz Festival and as well as young musical artists like Tchakø, The Lyonz and Gaika Tavares.

For the next phase of its musical journey, Audemars Piguet has announced it has signed the British-American DJ, record producer and song writer, Mark Ronson, as its latest brand ambassador. “It is such a pleasure to work with someone like Mark, who constantly pushes us to go further and seek excellence in everything we do,” says François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet, of working with Ronson.

“Being in Audemars Piguet’s factory, I really noticed this attention to detail and this combination of analogue instruments and soulful maestros who make watches,’ Ronson has said of the collaboration. ‘It is so similar to what we are doing in the studio with our heritage, in the sense of dedication and craft.’

The musician began his career as a DJ in the late 1990s and released his debut album, Here Comes the Fuzz,in 2003. Since then, he was worked with everyone from Adele and Lady Gaga to Miley Cyrus, Amy Winehouse and Queens of the Stone Age – not to mention becoming a Golden Globe and seven-time Grammy Award winner in that time. In 2018, he even added an Oscar to his heaving trophy cabinet when he garnered an Academy Award for co-writing ‘Shallow’ from the film A Star Is Born

Ronson now leads a long line of Audemar Piguet’s A-list musical fans, which includes John Legend, John Mayer, Drake, Harry Styles, Jay-Z, Will Smith and Justin Bieber.
