Known for his love of sparkling diamond necklaces Michael B. Jordan decided to bring out the big jewellery guns last night for the London premiere of his latest film, Creed III, with two rare Tiffany & Co. brooches.
Michael B. Jordan, who makes his directorial debut with the film alongside reprising his role as Adonis Creed, hit the red carpet in London’s Leicester Square adorned with not one, but two iterations of Tiffany & Co.’s historic Bird on a Rock brooch.
The style was creation of the jeweller’s legendary creative director, Jean Schlumberger, during the 1960s, who supposedly conceived the design after an amusing encounter with a cockatoo.
It is now one of the house’s most iconic motifs and has perched on the lapels of many other celebrities including Jay-Z, Gal Gadot, Marvel superstar Simu Liu, and sportsman Odel Beckham Jr.
The Bird on a Rock brooch has perhaps become best known as the perfect setting to showcase Tiffany & Co.’s rarest and most extraordinary gemstones, including the legendary Tiffany Diamond, and Michael B. Jordan’s examples were certainly no exception.
His 18K gold and platinum pieces contained plenty of show-stopping gems. One brooch was set with an amethyst weighing over 52 carats, a pink sapphire and 71 brilliant round-cut diamonds. A second, slightly smaller brooch was set with a shimmering 2-carat aquamarine, alongside further round-cut brilliants and a pink sapphire.
On his wrist, Jordan also sported one of Tiffany’s Lock bangles in white gold and pavé diamond, and he wore Tiffany diamond studs in his ears. Clearly a fan, he also recently appeared in a photoshoot for Rolling Stone draped in ropes of Tiffany & Co. pearls.
The actor is also a noted watch aficionado, having a clutch of coveted timepieces by Rolex and Piaget. For his latest outing, the star opted for a steel watch by the Swiss maker Vacheron Constantin.
