Luis Suarez and Raphinha are obsessed with British fine jeweller MJ Jones' fun, maximalist jewellery. Here's everything you need to know about the brand's latest collection of milky treasures, Pearl Skies
By Joshua Hendren
Best known for his fantastically flashy designs that decorate some of football’s greatest, British fine jeweller MJ Jones has turned his stylistic eye to the pearl, reimagining the milky gem as a modern treasure.
Since founding his eponymous label in 2012, Matthew J Jones has become a best-kept secret for world-renowned athletes and A-listers alike when looking to buy a spectacular custom jewel.
Inspired by the precious beauty of June’s birthstone, the new seven-piece collection catches the eye with rare Akoya and Keshi pearls, elevated with fistfuls of diamonds and 9K gold.
Sourced from the Akoya oyster, Akoya pearls appear in strands of white, black or multi-hues, perfectly round with superb lustre. The Keshi pearl, on the other hand, boasts a unique, organic shape, providing an alternative edge to delicate chains of black and white gold.
With prices ranging from £2,500 to £6,500, the Pearl Skies collection is a playful subversion of a classic design and is available to shop now on the MJ Jones website.
