Rolex’s bold new releases for 2022 include a gem-set Yachtmaster 40, GMT-Master II with a stunning green bezel and a variety of Datejust models.

Watches & Wonders, the industry’s biggest trade show, has kicked off in Geneva, and Rolex has joined in the celebrations by unveiling its latest creations for 2022.
Headlining the new releases is a green and black, left-handed version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II. Made from Oystersteel and fitted with an Oyster bracelet, the watch features a two-colour monobloc Cerachrom bezel insert in green and black ceramic – a colour pairing never before seen on this model. Powering the timepiece is the brand-new calibre 3285, dubbed by Rolex as a “new-generation movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex.” Centred by a 40mm case, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, which, like all Rolex watches, ensures unrivalled performance on the wrist.
Accompanying the GMT-Master II is the all-new Air King, featuring a redesigned case with a crown guard and straight sides. Celebrating the pioneers of aviation, the new watch features refreshed proportions; the watch’s display now features a 0 before the 5 on the minutes scale, while the centre link of the bracelet has been broadened. In addition, the new-generation design comes with the calibre 3230, first released in 2020. The movement also provides a power reserve of 70 hours.
Moving from the skies to the oceans, Rolex has also instilled new life into its seafaring options. Both the Yacht-Master 40 and Yacht-Master 42 models have received updates this year; the former has been unveiled in a sparkling new gem-set version, cast from 18kt white gold and set with trapeze-cut pink sapphire, light blue sapphire, diamond, purple sapphire and dark blue sapphire, while the latter is now available in new materials. An 18k yellow gold option will now be available in 42mm for the first time, while the previously-released white gold option in the same size will now carry a falcon’s eye dial.
Rounding out the 2022 releases is a plethora of new Datejust, Day-Date and Lady Datejust models offered in 28mm, 31mm, 36mm, 40mm, and 41mm sizes. Materials range from Oystersteel to platinum, white gold, yellow gold and Everose gold, with the most luxurious models available with diamond embellishments.
