Ethical jeweller Matilde has just unveiled its new Modern Icons collection that showcases the beauty of lab grown diamonds like you've never seen before
By Joshua Hendren
Matilde Mourinho, the designer bringing environmentally and socially conscious designs to the next generation of jewellery lovers with her eponymous label, has expanded her offering of lab grown diamonds with her latest collection, Modern Icons.
Using only 14K recycled gold, the twelve-piece line-up showcases contemporary and timeless jewellery in dazzling architectural forms.
Drawing on textures and shapes taken from the natural world, the collection preserves a raw beauty through pre-loved settings, asymmetry and sweeping, organic contours.
Typical of a Matilde jewel, each piece is adorned with clusters of lab grown diamonds in dainty pear-shaped droplets and classic solitaires.
“With this new collection I really wanted to hero those styles of diamond that are synonymous with statement pieces, like pear and solitaire shapes. I wanted the challenge of creating more striking stones and to highlight the beauty and versatility of conflict-free, lab-grown diamonds,” says founder Matilde Faria Mourinho Felix.
“I started Matilde Jewellery to seek to protect the natural world in one small way, by showing that we can create incredible fine jewellery in kinder ways. I absolutely adore this new collection and hope that you enjoy wearing it as much as I did creating it.”
