Tag Heuer launches a new Carrera Plasma at the 2023 Watches & Wonders show in Geneva. This year's model features over 124 lab-grown diamonds covering the bezel, dial, crown and bracelet, and is powered by the house's Calibre Heuer 02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement

After 2022’s Carrera Plasma, which was the first time TAG Heuer had used lab-grown diamonds on a watch, an updated model has been introduced to the Carrera collection at this year’s Watches & Wonders show in Geneva.
Last year’s cutting-edge technology allowed TAG Heuer to add diamonds to the case. For 2023, the Swiss watchmaker has extended this technology to the bezel and bracelet.
Since the brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary, it was only fitting to celebrate with diamonds. A staggering 124 Diamant d’Avant-Garde pink and white lab-grown diamonds, over 15.5 carats, have been carefully selected to decorate the timepiece – with over 48 diamonds, 4.3 carats, on the case. The crown’s standout feature is a single 2.5 carat lab-grown diamond. The watch is finished with a matte-black aesthetic, highlighting the diamond crown and case.
The dial is made of 4.9 carats composed of 12 diamonds and 3 polycrystalline diamond plates, one of the most groundbreaking features of this piece. This was achieved by growing a vast number of diamond crystals. The time is marked by diamond indexes of white gold, again set with lab-grown diamonds.
The watch is powered by the maison’s ultimate movement, the Calibre Heuer 02 Tourbillon Nanographa, which is manufactured in house and holds a 65 hour power reserve and COSC-certified chronograph and tourbillon.
“With the new TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde, we intend to expand the new high-end innovative segment with this first coloured lab-grown diamond piece,” says the watchmaker’s CEO FrĂ©dĂ©rique Arnault. “We are very proud at TAG Heuer, that we are yet again able to introduce a true innovation with coloured Diamant d’Avant-Garde.”
