Tasaki introduces new jewellery to its Fine Links and Danger collections

The Japanese jeweller presents the case for pearls with new, diamond-set creations that expand its Fine Links and Danger lines

By Joshua Hendren

Few gemstones evoke such mystery, such a lustrous allure, as the pearl. At once timeless yet contemporary, subtle yet rebellious, these luminous white orbs are the fascination of some of the world’s leading creatives, who are splicing and dicing the classic strand into new, unconventional forms.

No jeweller showcases the versatility and brilliance of the pearl quite like Tasaki, Japan’s largest and most respected jeweller, founded in 1954. And, thankfully for all of us pearl enthusiasts, more modern creations are heading our way as the maison unveils new additions to its Fine Links and Danger collections.

Fine Links is the latest offering by multi-talented Thai-American fashion designer, Thakoon Panichgul. The collection is defined by its modern take on the everyday chain, with milky pearls delicately embedded into yellow gold hoops, their curvaceous silhouettes framed in diamonds.

When carving the new range of claw-shaped jewels for its Danger collection, the Japanese jeweller looked to the fierce beauty of carnivorous plants. Here, sharp, twisted lines are the focal point, spun in smooth gold to accentuate the soft lustre of pearl.

Elsewhere, the new danger fang diamonds pave series introduces a fang-like motif set with twinkling diamonds, glam yet wild, as if poised to snap on unsuspecting prey.
