This year’s jewellery trends are predicted to be even more spectacular than 2023. As summer looms, key trends are surfacing, from the recent hysteria surrounding statement earrings and cuffs to the re-emergence of anklets, chokers and blooming rosettes.

Behold, the seven biggest jewellery trends that will really shine in 2024.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings have dominated the fashion world as of late. They have been welcomed by a number of luxury brands, including Valentino, Gucci and Dion Lee. This asymmetrical, standout piece, as worn by Gwyneth Paltrow, exudes an abstract and impressionist appeal, elevating the overall look.

Hero Cuffs

Hero cuffs, also known as chunky bangles, are becoming increasingly popular, and were spotted in glistening stacks on the spring/summer catwalks. These pieces create a lavish and intriguing look – they are extremely eye-catching and act as a finishing touch to any ensemble. They feature heavily in Carolina Herrera’s collections, and also in Alexander McQueen’s recent shows. These beautiful and bold pieces have also been adopted by celebrities including Dua Lipa, Addison Rae and Megan Thee Stallion.

Alphabet Ornaments

This type of initial jewellery comes in all manner of shapes and sizes, whether it’s a bold statement necklace or a small cursive detail, and has made an noticeable impact on the red carpet and the catwalk. Necklaces will typically highlight an individual letter, usually an initial upon a chain, or a multitude of letters, and work as a beautiful addition to an outfit giving the look more personality. Brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, David Yurman and Roxanne First offer playful options. The style has been taken up by celebrities such as Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid.

Chokers have returned and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Key pieces have been created by Louis Vuitton and, of course, Vivienne Westwood, whose pearl choker has become a TikTok phenomenon. This fashion staple was recently worn by Margot Robbie, who donned a triple-row pearl choker at the European premiere of Barbie last summer.

Small Watches

This summer is all about small Art Deco inspired watches. Spotted on rappers who previously wore oversized pieces such as Kanye West and Tyler, the Creator, Cartier’s coveted Crash and Tank models have popularised the trend for men’s miniature sized watches.

Anklets are popping up on stylish tanned ankles everywhere. Bringing a ‘90s rave vibe, the adornment has since been updated with modern touches, as worn by the likes of Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber.

For spring/summer 2024, rosettes will be blooming everywhere. This beautiful accessory was popularised in the grandiose designs of the 18th-century, but has now resurfaced as a key trend for 2024. It has been reimagined by a number of luxury brands, including Blumarine and Chanel, and been worn, most notably, by singer and actress Hailee Steinfeld.
