The story behind Meghan Markle’s diamond pinky ring

The diamond pinky ring is the creation of celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz and worth an estimated $62,000. Meghan has previously denied claims that the ring featured diamonds gifted by an unknown donor in the Middle East

Meghan Markle twinkled in one of the most mysterious pieces in her jewellery box last night on a date night with Prince Harry at the West Hollywood member’s club, San Vicente Bungalows.

The jewel in question is a diamond pinky ring made by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, worth an estimated $62,000.

American high jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz is the woman behind Hollywood’s most spectacular diamond baubles, becoming the third generation to take over her family’s diamond business in 1989.

There has long been controversy surrounding the origin of the pinky ring, which Meghan previously wore on a September 2021 visit to the One World Observatory.

That same year, Prince Harry and Meghan denied claims that the ring featured diamonds gifted to the couple by an unknown donor in the Middle East. Indeed, the ring was sourced by a stylist directly from the designer, the couple revealed.

However, the couple later clarified that they were referring to a different ring, with no further mention of the Lorraine Schwartz ring on her right hand, leaving its origins a mystery.

The palace previously directed inquiries about the diamonds back to the Sussexes’ representatives in the US.
