So, you’ve scooped a pair of the long-rumoured Tiffany-edition Air Force 1s. Now, here’s the statement shoebox to store them in.
To coincide with the launch of their dynamite kicks, sportswear giant Nike has collaborated once again with storied New York jeweller Tiffany & Co. on an Air Force 1 shoebox in shimmering sterling silver.
Handcrafted over 155 hours at the Tiffany hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island, artisans employed heritage silversmithing techniques such as bending, cutting, filing, soldering, layout, scoring, fitting, stoning, polishing and etching to bring this one-of-a-kind masterpiece to life.
Tiffany, a world-leading jeweller since 1837, set the American standard for sterling silver – an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals – in the 1850s, a quality measure still used today.
