The Bvlgari brooch was left to Hepburn’s good friend Doris Brynner, the widow of late actor Yul Brynner, and came to auction following the passing of Doris last year, aged 93.
Victoria Brynner, daughter of Doris, said she wanted the auction to “pay tribute to my mother’s elegance and style, while ensuring her place in the collective memory.” After the auction, she said she was she’s “delighted that her precious possessions will continue to be cherished by their new owners.”
Doris was a lifelong collector of designer clothing, jewellery, baskets, books, tableware and more.
The brooch sold in Paris last month for nearly six times its high estimate following fierce bidding among four buyers.

Back in 2023, many of Hepburn’s jewels were auctioned in ‘The Personal Collection of Audrey Hepburn’ via Christies.
The collection was the first time Hepburn’s personal items, which remained in the ownership of Audrey Hepburn’s family until 2023, were offered for sale.
The auction included Audrey Hepburn’s extensive personal wardrobe and her own annotated copies of film scripts from her best-loved films, including Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
“We are thrilled to have been entrusted with the sale of items from Audrey Hepburn’s personal collection,” Adrian Hume-Sayer, Director, Private Collections at Christies, said at the time. “Her name is one that instantly resonates, and her appeal and relevance remain as strong today as they ever were.”
Two more auctions of Hepburn’s memorabilia followed.
