Brad Pitt returns to the big screen later this year with his survival thriller Heart of the Beast, where he plays a retired special forces soldier who is trapped in the Alaskan wilderness with his military working dog named Odin.
In production stills released and the trailer, Pitt can be seen wearing a vintage Rolex Submariner with an aluminium bezel insert and drilled lugs. The watch is also stamped with “Swiss Made” at the bottom of the dial meaning it was issued between 2001 and 2007.
In the film, Pitt wears his watch on a fabric strap instead of the traditional metal, which is a popular choice among military men who purchase themselves a luxury watch.
The choice in the watch is a nod to real life special forces dog handler Will Chesney, who wore a Submariner during Operation Neptune, better known as the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.
Heart of the Beast is currently scheduled to be released on September 25.
Pitt is known as one of the biggest watch guys in Hollywood.
The iconic actor was recently spotted at the French Open with an exceedingly rare Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ultra-Thin on his wrist.
The Fight Club actor, who has maintained a home in France since around 2008, has been a longtime fan of the brand, even through his stint as an ambassador for Breitling.
Retailing for over £100,000, only 255 pieces of the watch have been manufactured and according to Vacheron Constantin’s website, they are already sold out, despite only hitting the market in the last few weeks.
It’s the first Overseas model to be crafted entirely from platinum and features a beguiling salmon coloured dial.The watch also includes Vacheron’s new Calibre 2550 and the brand’s first ever platinum micro-rotor.
In keeping with the Overseas range but still something of an anomaly in the luxury watch world, the piece comes with three interchangeable straps, made out of platinum, leather and rubber.
Pitt was also committed to Vacheron Constantin throughout the press tour for F1, when it came out last year.
He was spotted in the Vacheron Constantin 222 model in the gold version, which was reintroduced in 2022. He also owns the brand new steel version (announced earlier this year) and the vintage steel version – something he first sported at Wimbledon 2023.
At other recent press calls, Pitt was also seen wearing a vintage Patek Philippe (ref 2526), from the 1950s, also in gold.
In the F1 film itself, Pitt’s character is seen wearing an IWC Schaffhausen model (the watchmakers had a brand sponsorship). The limited edition Ingenieur Automatic 40 was launched by the watchmaker back in April 2025 and features a green dial that is inspired by a bespoke model worn by Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes in the Oscar nominated movie.
