Cartier have unveiled their brand new high jewellery collection titled “En Équilibre” in Stockholm earlier this week.
“En Équilibre” sees the French luxury jeweller use balance as the collection’s thoroughline. The cache includes 115 pieces as part of Cartier’s first chapter along with six high jewelry watches and three objects.
Speaking to WWD about the collection, Cartier’s chief marketing officer Arnaud Carrez explained that the collection’s monkier “En Équilibre” served as an opportunity to put the accent on and “unlimited vocabulary from the unexpected to the universally familiar.”
He added: “At the end, it’s always a matter of beauty and harmony.”
Speaking to the outlet about the collection’s thoroughline of balance, Jacqueline Karachi, creative director of Cartier shared that it was “important at every stage, from the search for the stones to the creation and the manufacturing of the pieces.
“It is all a question of expertise throughout the process to restore harmony to the eye, to give meaning to the creation and appear and make it appear self-evident,” she added. “We work on the invisible to create a perception that comes close to perfection.”
Cartier chose the city of Stockholm to stage a multiday showcase that kicked off on Monday (May 26) and revealed actress Gemma Chan as the brand ambassador of “En Équilibre”, with her photo showcasing two high jewelry rings from the collection.
Speaking about the location they chose, Carrez explained: “The city expresses the perfect balance between being a city and nature around it, it embraces innovation and tradition.”
As for the decision to have the Crazy Rich Asians film star as the face of the collection, Carrez added: “We build relationships with talents inscribed in a long time [scale]. It’s about meaningful, deep relationships.”
