Catherine, Princess of Wales, alongside her husband, Prince William, took a trip north to the AMT Headingly Rugby Stadium to meet the Leeds Rhinos team.
As a patron of the Rugby Football League, Catherine underwent the trip to learn more about the Rhinos and their foundation and the impact it has been having in the local area.
For the event, Catherine wore her trusty Mappin & Webb Empress diamond earrings which have been a favourite of hers for more than a decade.
Since making their public debut at Princess Charlotte’s 2015 Christening, the future Queen has been seen wearing them at various sporting events so it’s only right they came out for a tour of Headingly.
While the exact earrings Catherine wears are no longer available to buy from Mappin & Webb, the historic British brand still sells similar items as part of their Empress collection.
On the other end of the spectrum, Catherine recently wore a necklace that had only been seen once in a century.
Attending the premiere of Tom Cruise’s new film, Digger, in London, Catherine wore a heart-shaped amethyst necklace that is 103 years old.
Originally commissioned for the Queen Mother for her wedding to the future King George VI, the necklace was apparently only worn while mourning Queen Alexandra (who had purchased it).
After Alexandra’s mourning period expired, the necklace went back in the royal vault and was not seen publicly until the 2012 premiere of Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film, where it was worn by the then Duchess of Cornwall as she accompanied Prince Charles.
Catherine wearing it last week means the necklace has still only be seen in public at two film premieres, each more than a decade apart.

Catherine paired the amethyst necklace with a pair of pearl-drop earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana.
Gifted to Diana by jeweller Collingwood ahead of her marriage to the then Prince Charles in 1981, they were a frequent fixture on the Princess’ ears throughout her lifetime.
After Diana’s death in the late 90’s, the jewellery presumably became heirlooms handed down to William and Harry with these earrings remaining out of public view until Catherine began wearing them around a decade ago.
Like Diana, Catherine has frequently paired the earrings with the Lover’s Knot tiara at evening banquets, though she has also brought them out for occasions such as Remembrance Sunday and official portraits.
