Dwayne Johnson has somehow never attended the Met Gala before but the man also known as The Rock made a big splash on his debut.
Styled by Ilaria Urbinati in head to toe Thom Browne, Johnson also had a Jacob & Co. Billionaire III on his wrist, which is a highly exclusive and the first time it has been seen publicly.

What is most notable about the £2.4 million timepiece is just how enormous is.
Befitting its wearer’s mammoth size, the Billionaire III measures 54mm and the movement is more than 40mm across, itself bigger than most watches. Even on Johnson, a man measuring at 6’5″ and more than 250lbs, the Billionaire III overtakes the wrist.
The watch is also adorned with 714 white diamonds with most of them on the bracelets. All in all, the piece totals 129.61 carats.
Jacob Aramo, the founder of Jacob & Co. said in a statement: “The Billionaire III is the crown jewel of Jacob & Co. a true masterpiece, created for those who command presence at the highest level. Seeing it on Dwayne Johnson tonight is a powerful expression of what we do best.”
Only 18 editions of the watch will be manufactured
Johnson going with the Billionaire III for his Met Gala debut fits with his general approach to watches.
The former wrestler has a preference for oversized pieces such as the Richard Mille RM 057 “Dragon” Jackie Chan edition that are impossible not to notice and marvel at.
Last year, Johnson’s stylist, Ilaria Urbanati, spoke to Esquire UK about the big man’s watch game, saying: “I feel like every time he wears a watch, it gets written up. There’s a certain demographic of guys that are looking at what he’s wearing. It’s the guys at the gym, the big, bulky guys…I think that has influence.”
Elsewhere at the Met Gala, Hugh Jackman wore a Briony Raymond brooch, while Venus Williams stunned in an incredible Swarovski necklace. Connor Storrie hit the carpet in Tiffany & Co while Kendall Jenner wore Beccellati in what turned out to be a typically eclectic Met Gala. Check out here for all the looks of the evening.
