Jennifer Hudson, with her EGOT, was enlisted to perform the American national anthem during the lengthy closing ceremony at the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
Shortly before kick off, the Dreamgirls star arrived on the pitch glittering in Tiffany & Co.
Most notable were the Bird on the Rock earrings made out of platinum and 18k yellow gold and also featured diamonds of over 10 total carats, rubies and diamond accents.
Hudson’s other pieces were also from the Bird on the Rock collection as she wore a platinum and 18k yellow gold brooch with diamonds and a pink sapphire on her white Thom Browne suit.
Hudson also opted for two Bird on the Rock rings made out of platinum, gold and diamonds as she completed a rousing edition of the national anthem.
The closing ceremony also saw appearances from Tom Cruise, Post Malone and Robbie Williams while the World Cup Final also featured a half-time show for the first time which included an ensemble of performers including Madonna, Justin Bieber and Shakira along with The Muppets.
Hudson was not the only person in the stadium shining with jewels as Fifa presented championship rings to the winners for the first time in the tournament’s history.
Spain received a total of 30 rings to be dished out among the playing squad and coaching staff with the pieces customised like they are for Super Bowl winners. While Spain captain Rodri and coach Luis de la Fuente received temporary rings, there will be a formal ceremony to present them at a later date.
The rings feature the World Cup trophy engraved on the side but the full-design of the rings to be awarded to Spain has not yet revealed however the jewellery will feature motifs related to the winning country.
Fifa are also releasing World Cup winners rings to the public. Including the 30 pieces being manufactured for Spain, a total of 2,026 rings will be made with 1,996 to be put up for sale.
The rings will be crafted from 18 karat gold, while featuring 89 diamonds and 36 sapphires.
With all that bling, the rings will not come cheap and will be available for sale for a staggering £112,000.
While winner’s rings are commonplace in American sport, with Super Bowl rings reported to cost around $50,000 each to manufacture, this is the first time a major football event has been celebrated with championship rings.
It has also been a big World Cup on the watch front as the stars brought out the big guns when in the stands.
