As one of OMEGA’s longest-serving ambassadors, George Clooney has access to some of the brand’s most iconic watches. Case in point: a recent sighting of the actor wearing the OMEGA De Ville Hour Vision – a rarely seen model that quietly blends dress and sport watch styling.
Originally released in 2007, the De Ville Hour Vision is a 41mm stainless steel timepiece with a classic round case and polished bezel framing a dial that stands out thanks to a distinctive outer ring – the “hour track” – which displays the minute markers on a separate stainless steel ring around the dial’s edge.

Clooney wore the model on a black leather strap, which emphasises the watch’s dressier qualities, but the overall execution is more versatile than it might seem. The dial layout is clean, legible and well-proportioned, and the case shape sits neatly between vintage-inspired and modern.
The De Ville Hour Vision also carries the Swiss watchmaker’s Co-Axial automatic movement, visible through a sapphire caseback. At the time of its launch, the watch was a showcase for OMEGA’s watchmaking evolution – pairing traditional finishing with the brand’s proprietary escapement technology for improved accuracy and durability.

In a world where many brand ambassadors wear whatever’s newest or most limited, Clooney’s choice is notable. The Hour Vision isn’t a current flagship or limited edition. It’s a model that has flown under the radar for years, offering elegant proportions, and subtle design choices that reward close attention.
It’s a practical, reliable, well-made watch – and not the one you’d particularly expect to see on a red carpet or a baseball field. But Clooney wearing it for both is a reminder that the best watches don’t always need to shout.
