Our June cover star Jonathan Bailey has had a busy month, touring the globe to promote his latest film, Jurassic World Rebirth – the latest instalment of the Jurassic Park film series which originally starred Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and screen legend Richard Attenborough.
The new film sees Scarlett Johansson as a covert operations specialist tasked to lead a crack team of experts – including Bailey as leading palaeontologist Dr. Henry Loomis – to capture potentially lifesaving genetic material from dinosaurs, which are now roaming free after the events of the previous film, Jurassic World Dominion. What begins as a secret research trip quickly turns into a fight for survival, for them and earth.
While there’s plenty of action in this summer blockbuster, watch fans have also been quick to spot a rather fabulous timepiece on Bailey’s wrist – the Omega Railmaster. In the film, Bailey sports the 38 mm Railmaster 60th Anniversary edition (Ref. 220.10.38.20.01.002), a stainless steel timepiece with a black dial and brown leather strap, designed as a tribute to the original 1957 model and created specifically for Bailey to wear in this role. Bailey has previously told Something About Rocks how he worked with Reynald Aeschlimann, the CEO of the Swiss brand, to find the perfect watch for his palaeontologist character.
The Railmaster’s very specific anti-magnetic properties and vintage charm meant the watch was the perfect match for Bailey’s adventurous character.
An Omega ambassador since 2023, Bailey has also been spotted wearing the very latest Railmaster models (Refs. 235.12.38.20.06.001 and 235.12.38.20.13.001), on the red carpet during his press tour. Released only a few months ago, these new models feature sleek grey and beige dials with gradient finishes and elegant leather straps.
Known for his versatility and acclaimed roles in Wicked, Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers, and Richard II, Bailey has had a stellar year on screen and stage. And with the final half of ‘Wicked’ due out later this winter, fans can undoubtedly expect to see more excellent watches to appear at his media appearances in the coming months…
