Martin Katz has created a $62,000 diamond tennis bracelet for the Lotte New York Palace, taking its design inspiration from the New York skyline.The bracelet, named ‘The Palace’ is made up of 12 carats of 84 round diamonds and forms the jewellery centrepiece of Game, Set, Sparkle, a $100,000 US Open experience built around the hotel’s Jewel Suite designed by Martin Katz.

Last night Katz unveiled the collaboration during US Open week, as he attended the hotel’s ninth Palace Invitational alongside Serena Williams, Taylor Fritz, Matteo Berrettini and Caroline Wozniacki for a game of paddle. The four tennis stars swapped their tennis racquets for paddles at the invitation-only pickleball tournament in the Palace courtyard.
The whole package is quite unique and as well as including the bracelet there’s a minimum two-night stay in the Jewel Suite, the three-storey, 5,000 sq ft residence Katz designed for the hotel. The suite sleeps four guests and has on display more than $1.5 million of Katz’s jewellery in floating vitrines. It also has a crystal chandelier, a grand piano and rooftop terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi. Any guests booking the suite will also receive a 30 minute jewellery consultation with Katz in the suite. Game, Set, Sparkle is available for stays until 31 August.
This isn’t the first of Katz’s unusual collaborations. Katz has previously designed a perfume bottle with Donna Karan for the launch of a new fragrance with the New York designer, sunglasses with Ray Ban and a brazier with underwear brand Victoria’s Secret.
Katz works out of a penthouse in Canon Drive, Beverly Hills which he’s been based at for more than three decades. His jewellery designs are then made up in workshops across Los Angeles and Paris. His jewellery has been worn by Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Salma Hayek and famously Sharon Stone for the Basic Instinct premiere in 1996.
