Martin Katz has created a $62,000 diamond tennis bracelet for the Lotte New York Palace, taking its design inspiration from the New York skyline.The bracelet, named ‘The Palace’ is made up of 12 carats of a total of 84 round diamonds and forms the jewellery centrepiece of Game, Set, Sparkle, a $100,000 US Open experience built around the hotel’s Jewel Suite designed by Martin Katz.

Last night Katz unveiled the collaboration during US Open week, as he attended the hotel’s ninth Palace Invitational alongside Serena Williams, Taylor Fritz, Matteo Berrettini and Caroline Wozniacki for a game of paddle tennis. The four renowned tennis stars swapped their tennis racquets for paddles at the invitation-only pickleball tournament in the Palace courtyard.
The whole package Katz and the New York Palace are offering is totally unique, as well as including the bracelet there’s a minimum two-night stay in the Jewel Suite, the three-storey, 5,000 sq ft residence that Katz designed for the hotel. The suite sleeps four guests and has on display more than $1.5 million of Katz’s jewellery in floating glass cabinets. There’s also a crystal chandelier, a grand piano and rooftop terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi. Any guests booking the suite will also receive a thirty minute jewellery consultation with Katz in the suite to discuss their jewellery requirements. Game, Set, Sparkle is available for stays until 31 August.
This isn’t the first of Katz’s unusual collaborations. Katz has previously designed a perfume bottle in collaboration with Donna Karan for the launch of a new fragrance with the New York designer, as well as sunglasses for Ray Ban, famously worn by Celine Dion in 1999 as well as a gem crusted brazier for Victoria’s Secret.
Katz works out of a penthouse in Canon Drive, Beverly Hills where he’s been based for more than three decades. His jewellery designs are then made up in workshops across Los Angeles, Paris, Switzerland and Belgium. His jewellery has been worn by many of the leading ladies in Hollywood including Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Salma Hayek, Christina Ricci and most famously Sharon Stone for the Basic Instinct premiere in 1996 which made him and his jewellery famous.
