On May 22, 1996, the first Mission: Impossible film was released. What began as a single movie (and based on the television series of the ’60s) has since grown into a multi billion dollar franchise and become a household staple.
The press tour for the latest outing of the series, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, has seen the beloved cast assemble for one last time recently as they promote the last instalment of the much-loved action franchise.
The red-carpet has been full of incredible looks – not least through Tom Cruise wearing this much sought-after platinum Rolex Daytona – and Simon Pegg stealing the show with some vintage jewellery choices.
In the weeks leading up to the release of Final Reckoning, the cast traveled coast-to-coast for the premieres, consistently impressing fans with their show-stopping jewellery and watch styles. Here are seven of the best jewellery looks from these events.
Pon Klementieff
French actress Pon Klementieff, who plays the character Paris, attended the London premiere wearing a Rabanne Fall 2023 mini dress designed by Julien Dossena. While her outfit did not include jewellery, the dress known as “the diamond assembly dress” features a mirrored effect that mimics a diamond. She paired the look with silver Christian Louboutin sandals, enhancing the diamond like effect.
Angela Bassett
Across all of the MI premieres, Angela Bassett’s looks have always stood out. In London, she wore a sleeveless Dolce and Gabbana dress dripping with gold crystals. She completed the look with 18 karat gold pieces from Fope Jewellery.
At the Cannes Film Festival premiere, Bassett wore a fringed Burberry gown from the Fall 2025 collection. Although some found the outfit simple, her jewellery choices were notable, featuring pieces from Messika.
Greg Tarzan Davis
Greg Tarzan Davis brought simplicity and elegance to the red carpet. At the London premiere, he wore a sharp black mandarin collar jacket by Dior paired with white pleated trousers. A subtle butterfly brooch added a refined finishing touch. He sported a similarly dashing style while in Cannes too.
Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise, the face of the Mission: Impossible franchise, surprised fans by skipping the tuxedo for a more relaxed look at Cannes. He wore a textured knit polo with tailored trousers and loafers. While he kept jewellery minimal, Cruise was spotted wearing a Cartier Tank Must watch.
Esai Morales
Esai Morales, playing the films antagonist, brought an edge to the New York premiere. He wore a deep navy velvet blazer with a satin lapel, paired with black trousers and an open collared silk shirt. Morales accessorised with two layered silver chains by David Yurman, one featuring a subtle onyx pendant, and a vintage yellow gold Piaget Polo watch.
Hayley Atwell
Hayley Atwell also wowed at the New York Premiere of Mission: Impossible, wearing a long length custom Fendi dress and some stunning jewellery by Yvonne Leon.
Simon Pegg
Simon Pegg, who plays tech wizard Benji in the series has stolen the red carpet show during the Mission: Impossible press tour, as we explored in this deep-dive here. But it was Pegg’s vintage jewellery choices that stood out, not least his brooches.
London jewellery store Piccadilly Vaults revealed on their Instagram account last week that Pegg has worn many of their vintage pieces on the recent press tour, including an Victorian old-cut diamond star brooch, and enamel and diamond-cut brooch and pendant as well as a Cartier ‘Torte’ in 18ct yellow gold from the early 2000s.One of the standout vintage pieces also came via what they describe as a “significant multi-gem and diamond umbrella brooch.”
