Dame Helen Mirren was the latest star to wow at Cannes yesterday (May 22) when she appeared on the red carpet wearing a stunning 400 carat necklace.
The renowned actress, who is currently starring in Guy Ritchie’s hit television show Mobland, appeared at the festival for the premiere of Colors of Time premiere.
The necklace Mirren wore was a stunning Margot McKinney creation called the ‘Marina Collier’. In the centre of the necklace is a string of gemstones that combined weigh over 400 carats.
In the middle, meanwhile, there is a 241-carat cushion-cut green beryl followed by an oval-shaped 109.48-carat gem in addition to a weighty 65.72 aquamarine stone.
Each one of these is surrounded by further gems, including stunning arrangements of green beryl, aquamarine, tourmaline, sapphire, diamond, paraibas and tsavorite (green garnet) on 18K gold (as per People). The necklace even has some rare baroque pearls from the Australian South Sea.
According to a press release, the Marina Collier was inspired by “the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea”. The necklace originally debuted at the 2025 TEFAF Maastrich fair. Check it out here:
Posting to Instagram, Margot McKinney wrote: “Dame Helen Mirren stunned on the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, renowned as the world’s premier event for showcasing the very best in high fashion.
“She wore the Marina collier by Margot McKinney, a spectacular piece featuring gems of significant size and quality at its heart including a 241.14ct seafoam aquamarine which was mined in the 1980s and remained ‘in the rough’ until being acquired by McKinney for this piece. Inspired by the play of light on the shallows of the Great Barrier Reef, Marina includes an array of precious gems including diamonds, sapphires and green beryls, and is completed by twenty-five rare Australian South Sea baroque pearls of unusually large size.”
They added: “Marina was the centerpiece of Margot McKinney’s debut exhibition at the 2025 TEFAF Maastricht art fair in the Netherlands in March, and was one of her masterwork pieces created specially for the occasion.”
Dame Helen Mirren isn’t the only Mobland star who has wowed on the Cannes red carpet this week.
Anson Boon, who plays Mirren’s grandson in the hit show, was spotted wearing a TAG Heuer watch this week on the Cannes red carpet.
Wearing a classic Celine tuxedo, Boon accessorised his look with a TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date Twin Time whilst attending the Vanity Fair Lunch hosted by IHG Hotels & Resorts at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival at Carlton Cannes on Monday (may 13).
Boon wore two models across his time at the festival – the TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date Blue sunray brushed dial, with a 41 mm steel fine brushed, polished case, steel polished fixed bezel, TH31-02 movement and steel bracelet.
He also wore the TAG Heuer Carrera Date Twin-Time Teal colour sunray brushed dial, with a 41 mm steel fine brushed, polished case, steel polished fixed bezel, TH31-02 movement and steel bracelet.
Mobland has been a runaway success since its airing last month and has been one of Paramount’s biggest streaming hits to date. Alongside Mirren and Boon, actors Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Mandeep Dhillon and Paddy Considine also star.
