Robert Pattinson, as an ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre, is a newly minted watch guy, and during an appearance at the Venice Film Festival, he came out all guns blazing.
In the Italian city for the premiere of his new film, Primetime, in which he plays To Catch a Predator host, Chris Hanson, Pattinson wore a crisp white Dior suit with one of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s rarest models, the Master Hybris Artistica Calibre 184.
Only five of the reference were ever produced with the case and bezel fitted with baguette-cut diamonds while the watch also features a movement capable of repeating the Westminster chimes, making it one of JLC’s most complicated pieces with exactly 1052 components. At 43mm, the watch is also on the larger side.

Combining the scarcity of the watch as well as its opulent jewels, the piece can fetch nearly $1 million on the extremely rare chance they go anywhere near the open market.
Pattinson also recently revealed that he will be wearing Jaeger-LeCoultre when he returns as Bruce Wayne in The Batman II.
Unveiled as the new face of Jaeger-LeCoultre, Pattinson did the media rounds to talk about his new partnership while he was filming the hotly anticipated superhero sequel.
Speaking to GQ, Pattinson revealed that Batman himself will be wearing the endlessly elegant Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso in the film, saying: “When I was just starting to look them up and trying to decide which model to have for it, I realised that Christian had them as well. It is weird – as soon as you put the Reverso on, it definitely has a Bruce Wayne feel. There’s something that felt so incredibly correct for it, even the strap we chose. It’s the last thing I put on when you put the costume on, and there’s a guy who’s looking after the watch, and it all feels extremely Bruce Wayne-coded.”
In a separate interview with Esquire, Pattinson was asked which of his roles could be most associated with Jaeger-LeCoultre, with the Twilight star replying: “Bruce Wayne, no doubt. In fact, we were filming last week on the set of Wayne Manor and the scene required the maximum Bruce Wayne look, and the last thing they put on was a Reverso. They even had one guy who was specifically there to handle the watch. It felt like Alfred the butler was getting me dressed!”
While The Batman II is still more than a year away from cinemas, we now know what watch he will be wearing and it continues a strong tradition in Gotham City of the superhero billionaire being a fan of JLC.
As Pattinson pointed out, Bruce Wayne wears JLC in every one of the Christopher Nolan directed Batman movies with Christian Bale’s take on the iconic character wearing a Reverso in each of the trilogy. However, it was Val Kilmer that started the Jaeger-LeCoultre trend when he wore a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille in 1995’s Batman Forever.
