Spider-Man: Brand New Day has broken moviegoing records on its way to having the second biggest opening weekend in cinema history.
The film, Tom Holland’s fourth outing as the friendly neighbourhood superhero, follows Spider-Man as a new mind-controlling threat brings danger to New York City and those Peter Parker holds dear.

A number of new characters join the existing Marvel crew including Tramell Tillman as William Metzger, the director of the Department of Damage Control, a government body essentially responsible for regulating superheroes.
In the film, Tillman wears a Zenith Chronomaster Sport in stainless steel with a black ceramic bezel. With a tri-colour dial, pump-style pushers and a 41mm dial, the watch is a sport and sophisticated piece befitting the character who holds an office of importance but also gets his hands dirty.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is also notable for the watch worn by Jon Bernthal throughout the movie. Bernthal plays Frank Castle aka The Punisher in assisting Spider-Man keep New York safe, all the time wearing a distinctly large piece on his wrist.
Staying true to The Punisher’s character and background as a hardened military veteran, the character is wearing a Sangin Neptune. Unlike Tillman’s Zenith, there is no Swiss horology here, Sangin were founded by a former US Marine Raider and named after an area in Afghanistan that was a particular hotpoint during the war.
The Neptune is specifically the company’s take on the traditional diver’s watch and has been designed to withstand the circumstances of subsurface operations, while also looking at home if you’re wearing a suit.
One of the most interesting things about the watch is the crown which is positioned at 8 o’clock rather than the traditional 3 to make it easier to use during combat operations.
The watch also features a luminous display for maximum visibility in low light.
While Jon Bernthal and Tramell Tillman’s watches on-screen are creating the conversation, it’s their co-star Tom Holland off-screen that is all about timepieces.
The British actor has built up quite an arsenal of watches over the years and is one of the more underrated watch guys on the A-list red carpet.
He’s acquired his fair share of Rolex’s but his favourite appears to be a Cosmograph Daytona with an ice blue dial. Holland even had diamonds added to the watch after he bought it and it has been seen on his wrist at events ranging from centre court at Wimbledon to global press events for Spider-Man. Given this is a watch that will set you back around £70,000 without those aftermarket customisations, it’s good to see Holland gets some use out of it.
