In London, rather than a galaxy far far away, the stars came out to celebrate the release of the highly anticipated Dune sequel, Dune: Part Two, bringing with them constellations of fabulous jewels for onlookers to behold.
Zendaya, clad in a vintage suit of armour from Thierry Mugler’s iconic 20th anniversary fashion show in 1995, layered metal on metal as she donned a Bulgari high jewellery necklace on top. The platinum collier was crafted with a stunning central oval-cut sapphire, a further 13.72 carats of round sapphires and almost 400 fancy step-cut diamonds.
Her co-star, Timothée Chalamet, continued his predilection for custom premiere necklaces in a bespoke piece by Cartier. Much like the custom piece he had made for the premiere of Wonka, Chalamet’s yellow gold Dune necklace was set with over 900 rotating precious stones, to evoke the shifting desert sands of the film, as well as the bright blue eyes of many of its characters. It will now form part of the Cartier Collection and travel the world as part of exhibitions to showcase the Maison’s incredible in-house artistry.
Florence Pugh added a little extra stardust to her hooded and sequinned Valentino haute couture gown with a suite of white diamond jewels by DeBeers, including its Arpeggia ‘Five Lines’ earrings in rose gold, the ‘Motlatse Marvel Medallion’ ring in white gold and its ‘Dusk Reflection’ high jewellery choker necklace in white and rose gold, which she wore as a pair of cuffs.
Anya Taylor-Joy made a surprise appearance at the première, confirming her appearance in the film, which had been kept a secret. She attended the screening in a hooded, full-length Dior outfit, which left only her arms and hands showing – so she accessorised with a diamond studded ‘Reine’ watch by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The timepiece contains the maker’s tiny calibre 101 movement and was made famous when Queen Elizabeth II wore it during her coronation in 1953.
Léa Seydoux, who plays Lady Margot in the new film, channelled the shimmering desert heat in a beaded gold Louis Vuitton gown and accessorised with Louis Vuitton diamond jewellery.
