Jenson Button’s wife has £250,000 of jewellery stolen in London

Brittny Button, wife of former Formula One champion Jenson Button, has voiced her distress after a suitcase containing £250,000 worth of jewellery and designer handbags was stolen from outside London’s St Pancras station. The theft occurred after the couple returned from a romantic trip to Paris, casting a shadow over their visit to the UK.

The dramatic theft happened as Jenson, 45, briefly turned away while assisting a chauffeur in loading their luggage into a car. Brittny’s pink carry-on case, containing items including two highly valuable Kelly bags worth around £70,000 and several pieces of sentimental and antique jewellery, was swiftly taken by a passerby who vanished into the crowd before the couple realised what had happened.

The thief, identified as 41-year-old Mourad Aid, was apprehended by plain clothes officers from the British Transport Police, thanks to investigative leads despite CCTV not directly capturing the moment of theft. Aid pleaded guilty to the charge of theft at Westminster Magistrates Court on February 19 and remains in custody awaiting sentencing.

Speaking emotionally after the incident, Brittny expressed deep concern over the security of London, describing it as “unsecure” and “chaotic.” She confessed the theft left her in tears, particularly due to losing heirloom jewellery she had hoped to pass down to her daughter. “I don’t really have many things from my parents, I don’t really have many family heirlooms and I wish I did. So it’s really heartbreaking,” Brittny told MailOnline.

The experience has significantly affected her perception of the UK. “My husband and I really have no interest going back to the UK,” Brittny shared, expressing a marked shift in her comfort and confidence regarding the city’s safety. “It just feels so unsafe and doesn’t feel how it once was, and it’s just unfortunate because that’s where my children’s grandmother and aunts live.”

Detective Sergeant Marc Farmer of British Transport Police described the crime as “brazen and opportunistic,” emphasising the importance of remaining vigilant to avoid becoming a victim of similar thefts. He urged the public to stay aware of their surroundings and encouraged immediate reporting of incidents to authorities.

Piaget unveil stunning new Sunlight Panorama jewellery collection

Piaget has unveiled its new Sunlight Panorama collection, bringing fresh energy to the house’s signature solar-inspired designs, using bold stones and intricate goldwork.

The standout is the high jewellery double ring – an architectural piece that spans two fingers, anchored by a vibrant combination of turquoise, chrysoprase, and diamonds. The stones, arranged in an almost wave-like formation, are interlaced with ribbons of rose gold worked in the maison’s distinctive hand-etched Decor Palace engraving.

An equally bold statement comes in the form of the new cuff, a wide band that balances colour and negative space. The openwork design and cascading placement of stones give it a sense of lightness despite its size. Like the ring, it draws on contrast – polished rose gold against the matte green of chrysoprase, with diamonds acting as a connective thread throughout.

Piaget Sunlight Panorama jewellery

For everyday wear, the collection also includes simpler rings and pendants where turquoise takes centre stage. These pieces strip things back: one design features a single oval turquoise cabochon haloed by diamonds, set on a slim rose gold band. Another reimagines the sun motif as a curved pendant, edged in engraving and dotted with stones.

What ties the collection together is Piaget’s push toward three-dimensionality. Every piece is built with movement and volume in mind – nothing sits flat. The curves are deliberate, designed to echo the arc of the sun and play with light from every angle.

Rare one-of-a-kind Rolex Daytona expected to fetch $1.6 million at auction

Next month, one of the rarest Rolex watches ever made will hit the auction block at Sotheby’s Geneva. The platinum Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, reference 16516, is expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1.6 million – and with good reason. Not only is it the final piece in a mysterious four-watch commission dating back to 1999, but it’s also the only one of its kind set with diamonds.

In 60 Seconds | What Makes This Rolex Daytona Extremely Rare?

The watch is part of a now-legendary story that has captivated collectors for years. For over a decade, Rolex only produced automatic Daytonas in stainless steel, two-tone, yellow gold or white gold. Platinum wasn’t even on the table – until, quietly, in 1999, Rolex granted a single exception. A private client, whose identity remains anonymous, commissioned four Daytonas in platinum, each with a different dial.

The example being offered this May features a light pink mother-of-pearl dial, accented with ten diamond hour markers. It’s the only one in the quartet with diamond indices. The other three – set with lapis lazuli, turquoise, and dark mother-of-pearl dials – have all gone under the hammer at Sotheby’s in previous years, each far exceeding their estimates. The lapis example broke records in 2020, selling for $3.2 million.

Until the first example surfaced in 2018, rumours of platinum Zenith-powered Daytonas were mostly dismissed as apocryphal, linked to whispers that former Rolex CEO Patrick Heiniger had worn one before the model was ever made commercially available. It wasn’t until Sotheby’s began uncovering the four-watch commission that myth became reality.

Rolex began producing platinum Daytonas in a regular series in 2013, a full 15 years after this custom quartet was created. The 16516 reference is notable here – the final “6” in the code specifically refers to the use of platinum, a first for the Daytona line at the time.

“It is one of the most important Daytona examples to ever be offered at auction,” said Sotheby’s head of watches Benoît Colson, calling it a fitting “bookend” to a commission that’s become the stuff of legend.

Offered with its original certificate and accessories, the watch is fresh to market – a singular opportunity for collectors to own a piece of Rolex history, one that Rolex itself never made publicly available.

Ed Sheeran wears stunning Patek Philippe 5004A on new ‘Time’ cover

Ed Sheeran just landed one of the most high-profile covers of the year – Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025 – and he did it wearing one of the rarest Patek Philippe watches out there.

On his wrist? The Patek Philippe 5004A, a stainless steel split-seconds chronograph with a perpetual calendar. For many collectors, this is one of the ultimate grail watches.

Only around 50 of these were ever made, and they were never officially announced. Instead, they were quietly offered to top clients through Patek Philippe’s Geneva salon. It’s a watch that’s rarely seen in public, let alone on the cover of a global magazine.

With its clean steel case and classic black dial, it’s understated at first glance. For added impact, Sheeran swapped the usual leather strap for a black rubber one, likely the CTS Rubber Strap from Delugs. It’s a casual twist that feels very “Ed” – practical, wearable, and a little unexpected.

In another image from the shoot, Sheeran is wearing the Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11, a limited-edition watch with just 11 pieces made. The brand celebrates the legacy of British watchmaker John Arnold, making this a cool nod to Sheeran’s UK roots.

While most celebrities rely on stylists for their watches, Sheeran has long been known as a serious collector. He’s appeared on Talking Watches, designed a limited-edition G-Shock, and regularly gets watch forums buzzing.

On one wrist, a legendary Patek. On the other, an indie masterpiece. Trust Ed Sheeran to turn a ‘Time’ cover into a moment for true watch lovers.

Girard-Perregaux’s Laureato has a bold new look

Girard-Perregaux is turning up the brilliance on its iconic Laureato, reimagining the watch’s signature octagonal bezel in two dazzling new 38mm designs.

These elegant watches combine the classic design of the Laureato with the art of fine gem-setting, offering a fresh take on a timepiece beloved by collectors and style lovers alike.

First launched in 1975, the Laureato is known for its bold, octagonal bezel set on a round base with a slim tonneau-shaped case. The new 38mm models keep this signature silhouette, but add a glamorous twist with dazzling gemstones.

One model features a bezel set with 32 baguette-cut diamonds, cut to fit the unique angles of the Laureato’s eight-sided frame. The second version adds a touch of colour with a gradient of sapphires and diamonds. The bezel is set with 10 brilliant-cut diamonds near the 6 o’clock mark, transitioning into 46 brilliant-cut blue sapphires that deepen in colour toward the top of the dial in a subtle ombré effect.

While the stones may catch the eye first, the craftsmanship goes far beyond the bezel. Both models feature the Clous de Paris-patterned dial, a signature detail of the Laureato collection, crafted in white or grey gold. The GP logo and hour markers are also made of white gold, adding to the luxurious finish.

Inside, the watch is powered by Girard-Perregaux’s in-house GP03300 automatic movement, made in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, featuring a 46-hour power reserve and pink gold rotor.

Despite the dazzling details, the Laureato 38mm remains highly wearable. The stainless steel case and integrated bracelet are designed for comfort, with a mix of polished and satin finishes.

Both new Laureato 38mm watches are now available at authorised retailers and boutiques globally.

Timex brings back this iconic watch from the 90s

Timex is throwing it back with the launch of the 1995 Intrepid Reissue – a revival of one of its most iconic ‘90s watches, once famously worn by John F. Kennedy Jr.

The original Timex Intrepid as worn by John F. Kennedy Jr. in the 1990s

Known for his effortless style and laid-back sophistication, JFK Jr. was often spotted wearing the original Intrepid – pairing it with everything from sharp tailoring to weekend casual. The reissue captures that same balance of form and function, bringing back a cult classic with a modern twist.

The new reissue stays true to the dive-inspired roots of the original but upgrades the design for today’s watch lovers. You’ve got a bold 46mm stainless steel case, a clean white dial with standout hour markers, and a black synthetic rubber strap that adds a sporty edge. There’s even a distinctive crown at 4 o’clock, giving it that extra bit of character.

One of the highlights? Timex’s signature Indiglo backlight, activated by a green pusher at 9 o’clock for easy visibility after dark – a practical feature that’s as fun as it is functional. The rotating top ring includes a slide rule with logarithmic scales, nodding to the kind of geeky-cool tech you’d expect from a tool watch of that era.

The original Intrepid earned its cult status thanks to its wearability and timeless aesthetic, not to mention its connection to one of the most quietly stylish men of the 20th century – a guy who knew how to pair sharp tailoring with a bit of rugged wristwear. The reissue taps into that same laid-back elegance and sense of Americana.

Inside Queen Camilla’s stunning jewellery collection on the Royal Italian tour

King Charles and Queen Camilla have just wrapped up a state visit to Italy – their first major royal tour of the year, and one that coincided with their 20th wedding anniversary. Alongside the official engagements and elegant outfits, Camilla’s jewellery choices stood out for their personal symbolism and historical significance.

From heirloom brooches to meaningful anniversary pieces, here are the standout jewels she wore on tour.

1. Lily of the Valley Brooch – estimated value: £10,000

Worn for her official anniversary portrait with King Charles, this diamond and pearl Fabergé brooch is a heartfelt nod to their 2005 wedding – lily of the valley featured in Camilla’s bridal bouquet.

The piece once belonged to the Queen Mother (though there’s no record of her wearing it) and has since become one of Camilla’s most sentimental accessories, also worn to her daughter’s wedding in 2006.

2. Prince Albert Brooch – estimated value: £8,000,000

During her visit to the Quirinale Palace in Rome, Queen Camilla paid tribute to royal tradition by wearing the historic and exceptionally valuable Prince Albert brooch. Originally commissioned in 1840 by Prince Albert as a wedding gift for Queen Victoria, the piece was presented to her the night before their marriage and quickly became one of her most treasured jewels.

Featuring a vivid oval-cut sapphire – estimated to weigh at least 40 carats – encircled by 12 dazzling diamonds, the brooch is believed to contain a Burmese sapphire, known for its rich colour and exceptional clarity. It later became a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II, regularly worn during her most iconic public appearances, and now continues its legacy with Camilla, who honours its deep royal roots while giving it new life in the modern monarchy.

3. Four-Strand Pearl Choker – estimated value: £50,000

A signature piece in Camilla’s collection, this cultured pearl necklace with an Edwardian-cut diamond clasp made another appearance in the anniversary portrait.

She paired it with the same dress worn to her 2005 civil ceremony, adding to the sense of nostalgia and understated elegance.

4. Turquoise and Diamond Necklace – estimated value: £150,000

At the state banquet in Rome, Camilla chose a vivid turquoise and diamond necklace featuring cabochons and delicate fringes.

Believed to have belonged to her mother, the necklace has been in Camilla’s collection for decades – first seen publicly at Charles’s 50th birthday.

5. Diamond Cluster Earrings – estimated value: £850,000

Also worn at the banquet were Camilla’s beloved cluster earrings. Set with pear-cut diamonds in a cascading design, they form part of a demi-parure and date back to her early royal years.

Sentimental and show-stopping in equal measure.

6. Greville Ivy Leaf Clips – estimated value: £64,000

For her meeting with Pope Francis, Camilla wore the historic Greville Ivy Leaf Clips – made by Cartier and passed down from the Queen Mother to Queen Elizabeth II, who wore them frequently during her reign.

They’re pieces with serious royal pedigree and emotional weight.

7. Square Diamond Brooch by Lucia Odeschalchi – estimated value: £20,000

On the final day of the tour in Ravenna, Camilla debuted a new addition: a contemporary square brooch in yellow gold with sparkling diamonds, designed by Italian jeweller Lucia Odeschalchi.

The piece has never been seen before and is rumoured to be an anniversary gift – a stylish and modern touch to round off the tour.

Vivienne Westwood reimagines pearl choker as stunning new wristwatch

Vivienne Westwood has just released a brand-new jewellery watch, inspired by one of the fashion house’s most famous accessories – the iconic pearl choker.

Reimagining the three-row pearl Bas Relief choker from the 1990 ‘Portrait’ collection, the new, limited-edition Strand pearl watch features a bracelet made of three rows of Swarovski glass pearls, seamlessly integrated with a central orb watch case.

The crystal-encrusted orb, a symbol synonymous with the British fashion house, opens to reveal a hidden satin sunray watch dial.

The original pearl choker debuted as a single strand in the late 1980s as part of the late designer’s Harris Tweed Fall 1987 runway collection. It was later updated to a triple strand for Westwood’s Portrait collection in 1990. The design features a central two-dimensional orb adorned with white crystals and has since become a cult favourite on platforms like TikTok.

Today, the TikTok necklace is a staple of the A-list – Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and Bella Hadid are just a few of its fans. The TikTok pearl necklace’s most viral celebrity appearance came during King Charles III’s coronation back in May 2023, when Katy Perry wore a three-strand pearl choker set with Westwood’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted Orb logo at its centre to the Westminster Abbey ceremony.

Its popularity has also been bolstered by the currently trending manga Nana, adapted into an anime series from 2006 to 2007, which heavily promotes Westwood’s Orb design. Its author, Ai Yazawa, a former fashion student, was charmed by the British designer’s punk roots, sparking a craze for Westwood’s jewellery with the show’s cult following. During the mid 2000s, Westwood even took advantage of this fanfare and collaborated with Nana on advertisements featured in the popular Japanese punk fashion magazine Kera.

Available exclusively at Vivienne Westwood boutiques, Selfridges and select Beaverbrooks locations across the UK and online, the new gold-plated jewellery watch is powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement and retails at £450 / $610.
