Formerly the address of Collingwood & Co, a noted jeweller to the Royals, Hirsh London resides on Grafton Street. A refurbished townhouse comprising winding staircases that lead to the gemmology room, a mounting room and setting room, the polishing room, a private living room for private appointments and, on the ground floor, the boutique.
The brand was launched 40 years ago by Anthony Hirsh in London’s Hatton Garden and is now run by his son Jason, and Jason’s wife, Sophia. They met in 2004. Both had backgrounds in luxury, at Asprey; Sophie had also spent time at Hermes, Burberry and Garrard. She now heads up the business side more, while Jason is more on the creative side of things.
Each year, Hirsh launches a signature snowflake, part of their quest to focus on quality and one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s been a tradition to create the winter motif for the past 20 years. And colour is also a hallmark. Vibrant and vivid shades are Jason and Sophia’s passion, it’s something you can see in their pastel campaigns.

Diamond tennis bracelets—innovated because Sophia kept wearing hairbands around her wrist much to Jason’s annoyance—are another Hirsh favourite. Most recently, and partly owing to the 2020 landmark anniversary, silverware, bags and globes have been added to the stable.
For Jason, acknowledging, supporting and celebrating the great jewellery-making history of the UK is important. It’s luxury.
Flowers and creatures sit alongside classic and timeless designs, it’s the stone that will decide the direction of a design at Hirsh.
