Three months have passed since King Charles III’s coronation, but we’re still in awe of Zara Tindall’s jewellery choice for the occasion.
When the famed British equestrian arrived at Westminster Abbey, she turned heads in a decorative diamond brooch. Known for a more relatable style than other royals, the remarkable jewel was a statement pick which showed a heartfelt connection to both her mother and her uncle on the big day.

Pinned to her powder blue outfit, the diamond and ribbon tassel brooch was a handpicked wedding gift from King Charles III to his younger sister, Princess Anne, when she married her first husband Captain Mark Phillips in 1973.
It was last worn by the Princess Royal for the Guildhall Banquet during a visit from the Spanish Royal Family in 2017. Designed to resemble a rosette motif, a symbol of authority, divinity and grace, with delicate drop tassels, the precious heirloom was a subtle tribute to the relationship between her mum and her uncle – a touching way to honour King Charles III at the start of his reign.

Zara paired the brooch with white gold drop earrings from Australian jeweller Calleija. According to jewellery experts, the brooch has an estimated value of £40 000.

This is not the first time Tindall has chosen meaningful jewellery. The royal paid similar tribute to her mother at her wedding to former rugby player Mike Tindall. For this occasion, Zara secured her veil with a beautiful Greek tiara, known as Princess Andrew’s Meander Bandeau. A family heirloom, the diamond tiara originally belonged to Princess Alice of Battenberg (who is also known as Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark), before being passed down to Queen Elizabeth II, and subsequently her daughter, Princess Anne.

The timeless bandeau is punctuated by a central brilliant-cut diamond, surrounded by a glittering laurel wreath and two honeysuckle elements. It has an estimated value of £4 million. Tindall paired the tiara with another sentimental piece – a pair of diamond frame earrings that were gifted to Princess Anne on her 18th birthday by the late Queen and Prince Philip.
