Like the planets, moons and comets that hurtle through outer space, watchmakers revisit the cosmos year after year – and Grand Seiko is no exception.
Showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of the Shiojiri-based Shinsu Watch Studio, the Japanese luxury watchmaker’s latest timepiece is a testament to watchmaking’s enduring love for all things celestial and the stories and inspiration that lie within.

This latest edition to the brand’s Heritage Collection is named the High Moon and celebrates 55 years since the launch of the original 44GS watch in 1967.
Grand Seiko’s penchant for colourful dials is on full display with this updated model, with a deep blue dial at its centre that captures the rare beauty of a full moon in the night sky. Enhancing the dial is a sunray pattern that catches the light and creates a subtle sparkle that shimmers off the signature gold Spring Drive seconds hands.

Powering the High Moon is the manual-winding Spring Drive Calibre 9R31, a movement featuring an innovative dual-spring barrel that incorporates two mainsprings set in parallel, thus providing an impressive 72-hour power reserve.

Presented on a navy alligator strap, the new High Moon watch is limited to 1,500 pieces, each with an individual serial number and engraving, and is available in August at Grand Seiko boutiques worldwide.
