Unofficially the tallest man in Hollywood and potentially the next James Bond, Jacob Elordi has had a quick rise from a working class Australian childhood to global heartthrob. Through roles in Euphoria, Saltburn and Wuthering Heights, he’s become one of the most in demand young actors of his generation and is back on the big screen this week with The Dog Stars, directed by Ridley Scott and co-starring fellow rising star, Margaret Qualley, as well as Josh Brolin and Guy Pearce.
Off-screen, Elordi has become a style icon, developing a reputation for his suit game and taste in vintage watches on the small side (and they look even smaller on his six foot five frame). Previously an ambassador for TAG Heuer and currently working with Cartier, Elordi has been able to have his pick from the best of both brands while he is also known to dabble in Rolex – again vintage pieces.
To celebrate the release of The Dog Stars, we have rounded up some of Elordi’s best watch moments below.
Cartier Tank Louis
Elordi is, of course, a big Cartier guy – right now, half of Hollywood is with the French brand’s Tank model having a huge resurgence in popularity after spending quite a while sidelined by oversized kings such as Panerai and IWC. The Tank Louis Elordi wore while hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2024 is all luxe style – a jet black lacquered dial with a subtle gold rectangle bezel and a more ostentatious sapphire crown – it’s a watch that is simultaneously understated but unforgettable.
TAG Heuer Monaco
Previously a TAG Heuer ambassador, but Elordi got on the TAG train before he’d even got a contract with the watch giant. Making his Oscars debut in 2022, Elordi opted for a classic stainless steel Monaco with a black dial and white subdials for an update on the iconic watch made famous by Steve McQueen in Le Mans more than fifty years ago.
Rolex Bubbleback
Worn throughout Saltburn, the Bubbleback is actually Elordi’s own piece. While the costume department were after a vintage Rolex for his aristocratic character, Elordi volunteered his own from the 1950’s. Not one of the more expensive vintage Rolex’s, the model originates in the 1930’s and is known for its bulging case back and 1950’s appropriate 34mm size. These have still not really seen an uptick on the secondary market compared to most models and are cheaper than buying a new Rolex.
Cartier Tank Normale
A reissue of the classic Normale version of the Tank, Elordi brought this out in public when he attended the premiere of Priscilla at the Venice Film Festival. As you’d expect, the new version comes with a lot of glamour with an 18 karat gold case and bezel to go with a movement consisting of 21 rubies while a sapphire sits on the octagonal crown.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300
Turning up at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, Elordi turned more than a few heads with this TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 with a bubblegum pink dial and diamond hourmarkers. Coming in at just 36mm, this is more or less a women’s watch, but Elordi, who prefers to wear smaller pieces, pulls it off with his vintage style.
Rolex Day-Date
Since it launched in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date has been one of the most popular watches among the rich and famous. Classic in every sense, Elordi opted for a version from either the 1970’s or 1980’s that features a sapphire crystal. A vintage 36mm, an older version of the watch like the one Elordi is wearing, is actually much cheaper than ordering a brand new one. You’ll get it quicker too, given Rolex’s wait times.
