As they unveiled their new collection earlier this week (April 14), the brand boasted a world first and an extensive celebration of their military history – mainly their long association with the Royal Italian Navy.
With five watches in the collection, Panerai have conjured up a versatile offering, which you can check out below.
The Luminor 31 Giorni

The piece de resistance of the unveiling, the Luminor 31 Giorni is the first watch in the company’s history to boast a 31 day power reserve. The feat took around seven years of research and development and after the 31 days, the movement stops automatically. Only 200 pieces will be available to the public.
The Luminor Forged Titanium

As you may have guessed from its name, this Luminor model is created from forged titanium which is a first for the brand and ensures that no two pieces are exactly the same. It’s another first for Panerai and only 100 are being made.
Luminor PAM01735

Panerai’s take on the popular and very collectable tropical dial style, the Luminor PAM01735 has a design that takes the wearer back to the brand’s earliest designs for the Italian Navy where they would be worn by divers and became renowned for their reliability and robustness.
Luminor 8 Giorni PAM01733

Again inspired by Panerai’s relationship with the Italian Navy, the design of the Luminor 8 Giorni PAM01733 has been created to mimic the natural wear a watch undertakes in the line of duty. Specifically harking back to the 1950’s, it’s a piece that reminds you why Panerai watches were in such hot demand when they hit the civilian market in the early 1990’s.
Luminor PAM01731 / Luminor Destro PAM01732

Directly inspired by the Marina Militare from the 1960’s, these two pieces honour the traditions of Italian frogmen while also making it more suitable for contemporary use, reducing the size of the watch and the Perspex of a time gone by has been replaced by sapphire crystal. A throwback in the best way.
