Prince George has been by his father, Prince William, side all summer. The future Kings attended Wimbledon together and also represented the UK at the FIFA World Cup.
The younger prince, who will one day be monarch, recently celebrated his 13th birthday and his mum and dad paid tribute to their eldest with a video on Instagram where the Royal Family appear to be on holiday and George can be seen enjoying cricket, rock climbing and some time with the family dog.
In the clip, George can be seen wearing a Garmin D2 Air X15, the same brand his dad famously wore during a 2023 food bank while he was also sporting an Omega Seamaster on his other wrist.
The smartwatch retails for £600, considerably less than the Apple Watch and was designed with pilots in mind, featuring tools such as a LED torch, GPS navigation and aviation weather information.
While it’s the first watch Prince George has been seen wearing, his father is closely associated with the Omega Seamaster Professional 300M, which he received as a gift from his mother, Princess Diana, shortly before she died.
William is rarely seen without the watch when on public duties and is known as his day-to-day watch though he does also like to wear a smartwatch, presumably to track all of his steps.
In terms of its design, William’s quartz-powered Seamaster Professional 300M features a blue date dial, a chronometer, a screw-in crown, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a helium-escape valve. The dial is covered with sapphire crystal, resistant to scratches, and the wristband is made from stainless steel.
While William is a one watch man, King Charles III is known for his impressive collection of timepieces.
On the first day of his reign, Charles was seen wearing a Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph, clearly a favourite of the monarch as he was also seen sporting it during Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.
Keeping with his theme of underrated Swiss brands, Charles also owns a Breguet Classique that is a complete one-off and was gifted to him on his 60th birthday which features both the Prince of Wales seal and the inscription “HRH The Prince of Wales in commemoration of your 60th birthday”. Because of it’s entirely unique nature, it’s probably the most valuable watch in Charles’ collection.
A famous watch Charles wore during his relationship with Princess Diana was a Patek Philippe Disco Volante, which other than it being renowned for its unusual shape, became a piece of note as Diana would wear it while her husband was playing polo, seemingly as a good luck charm.
Arguably the most interesting piece Charles owns is a standard Hamilton field watch that was issued to military personnel. Charles would wear one frequently in his younger days and befits his training as an RAF pilot before he joined the Royal Navy. He does still wear the watch to military events and presumably received his during his service though it is also possible it was bought or inherited.
