Originally brought out in 2020, TAG Heuer’s Carrera Chronograph Sport before it received a 2023 modification for the brand’s 60th anniversary, bringing us to this 2026 relaunch with a completely redesigned dial.
There have also been significant changes to the case. Reduced from a weighty 44mm, the Sport now sits at 42mm on the wrist and while it’s still on the large side for a watch like this, especially as current trends favour dainty watches, the sleeker dimensions make it more versatile and wearable.
The watch has been made cleaner while most of the ceramic construction has been removed in favour of a steel cradle while the dial emphasises TAG’s longlasting association with motorsport with subdials for hours, minutes and seconds. The selected colourways also put a focus on legibility.
Five references are being released including the classic black dial with red hands option while there are also green, blue and white dial versions. A fifth watch pairs the blue dial with a brown calfskin strap, evoking the history of motorsport. The blue is the only colour available on a leather strap.
Launched at the past weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, the watches are available now with the leather strap edition retailing for £5,300 while the bracelet versions are £5,500.
TAG Heuer recently relaunched the Monza Flyback Chronograph Carbon.
Associated with motorsport for more than 50 years through watches such as the Monaco and Carrera, TAG Heuer also released the Monza in 1976 to celebrate a Niki Lauda led Ferrari winning the Formula 1 World Championship.
Exactly 50 years on from the win, TAG brought the model back just in time for the Italian Grand Prix a few weeks ago.
Made entirely from super lightweight carbon, the watch is a sizeable 42mm and features a dial that is different to previous iterations of the Monza.
Compared to past editions, the small seconds and date function have essentially switched places and the whole aesthetic is thoroughly modernised, while clearly being part of the Monza lineage.
TAG Heuer have also decided to keep numbers extremely limited with only 500 being manufactured worldwide and the watch will retail for £12,950.
TAG Heuer recently launched a brand new limited edition version of the Carrera in collaboration with Watches of Switzerland.
Only available through Watches of Switzerland, Goldsmiths and Mappin & Webb and limited to just 250 pieces, this new Carrera keeps the classic look of the ever-popular model while offering up an eye-catching icy blue dial on a 41mm case.
The hands and hourmarkers are made out of silver as is the day-date window frame with the black lettering standing out against the light blue.
With the very limited quantity available, this Carrera Day-Date is retailing for £3,950.
