Catherine, Princess of Wales, stunned onlookers at her arrival at Westminster Abbey for King Charles’ coronation wearing bespoke robes by Alexander McQueen, teamed with a matching silver headpiece which was crafted in collaboration with British milliner Jess Collett.

The Princess’ ivory silk crepe gown featured sparkling silver bullion and threadworm embroidery of symbolic flowers – roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks, to signify the four nations of the United Kingdom. To this, she added some meaningful jewels as a tribute to other members of the Royal Family, such as the late Queen Elizabeth’s George VI Festoon necklace, with its three strands of diamonds and Princess Diana’s pearl and diamond earrings.
The custom-made headpiece was a collaboration between milliner Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen, made with silver bullion, crystal and silver threadworm and leaf motifs. Her daughter, Princess Charlotte, wore a matching mini-me version, also crafted in silver bullion.
