Tom Cruise has long been one of Hollywood’s biggest but quietest watch guys. He will wear a watch for just about any public occasion and always in his movies but due to not being a holy grail collector in the same vein as Brad Pitt or Robert Downey Jr, his game might be a little bit overlooked – an anomaly for the biggest Hollywood star of the last 40 years and one who has had every aspect of his life dissected.
Cruise has his style. He likes functionality. He really likes Rolex. And unsurprisingly, he has a fondness for pilot’s watches from brands big and small.
With his new film Digger on the horizon, a movie that sees him wear a £77,000 Vacheron Constantin, there’s no better time to take a deep dive into Cruise’s watch collection, which you can check out below.
Rolex Sky-Dweller
It’s only right that Maverick owns a Sky-Dweller, a true aviator’s watch which displays two different time zones using a middle disk. Unusually for a Rolex, the bezel is also functional and can be used to adjust the time zones as well as the date. Cruise’s version is made out of white gold and features a distinctly black dial.
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin

Worn during a trip to the Cannes Film Festival where he premiered Top Gun: Maverick, this VC is a little different to Cruise’s usual tastes of valuing functionality as this is a pure piece of high-end horology, costing more than $100,000.
Bremont ALT1-C
Another aviation watch, this Bremont piece is a go-to for pilot’s everywhere and they remain popular with men of action making the ALT1-C perfect for Cruise. However, when he was spotted wearing it, he was attending Jerry Bruckheimer’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony rather than jumping out of a plane.
Panerai Luminor

Almost as big as the Mission: Impossible star himself, the Luminor has been a popular choice with action heroes since Sylvester Stallone popularised the watch in the mid-1990’s. As well as wearing one for his role in Tropic Thunder, Cruise also brought out the Luminor for a celebration of Oprah Winfrey.
Porsche Design Chronograph 1

Worn as Maverick in 1986’s Top Gun, this was designed for pilots even though it comes from a car company. When Cruise reprised the role more than 30 years later, he ensured that he was wearing the same watch – literally the same watch.
Cartier Santos de Cartier
A dressier watch than usual for Cruise, he has taken a liking to Cartier in recent times (who in Hollywood hasn’t?) with a standout being this medium sized Santos which eschews the date on the dial. It’s 35mm size is more befitting someone of Cruise’s stature.
Jacob & Co. Epic II Chronograph
Not the type of piece you’d usually associate with Cruise, this limited edition 47mm Jacob & Co piece is one of the boldest in the Hollywood icon’s collection, eye-catching for its whopping size and distinctive black and white dial.
Rolex Day-Date 40

This is no ordinary Day-Date. The model Cruise wore to collect his first (honorary) Oscar features baguette cut diamonds and a dial made from actual a meteorite that landed in Namibia. Each individual piece is completely unique and they’re among the hardest Rolex’s to get your hands on.
Cartier Calibre de Cartier Chronograph

Though discontinued in 2018, Cruise was seen wearing this Cartier a number of years later when on the publicity trail for Top Gun: Maverick. About as far away from the traditional Cartier aesthetic as you can get, the watch could be mistaken for a Rolex from a distance.
