Ulysse Nardin has unveiled the Diver [AIR], the world’s lightest mechanical dive watch, at Watches & Wonders 2025.
Weighing a mere 52 grams with its strap, and less than 46 grams without, the Diver [AIR] sets a new record for lightweight, high-performance watchmaking.
The secret to this ultra-lightweight achievement lies in its use of innovative materials. The Diver [AIR] builds upon the successful Diver X Skeleton from 2021, but now cuts its total weight by more than half.
Central to this is the newly developed UN-374 movement, redesigned to minimise mass dramatically without sacrificing durability. Key movement components, including the bridges and main plate, are crafted from 90% recycled titanium, one of the first uses of titanium in a watch movement due to its challenging but beneficial combination of strength and low weight. The movement itself weighs just 7 grams.

In addition, the Diver [AIR] incorporates next-generation materials. The 44mm case features a modular design combining a recycled titanium middle case with side parts made of Nylo-Foil, a blend of recycled ocean netting and carbon fibre recovered from high-performance IMOCA sailing yachts. The bezel, made from CarbonFoil, uses fully upcycled carbon fibre, ensuring the watch remains robust while cutting down every unnecessary gram.
Despite its remarkably low weight and skeletonised design, consisting of 80% air, the watch is certified water-resistant up to 200 meters and can withstand shocks of up to 5000g. Its UN-374 automatic calibre, meanwhile, offers a substantial 90-hour power reserve.
The Diver [AIR] is complete with two interchangeable elastic straps in white and orange, designed without the need for tools.
