The Hermès H08 line has welcomed its first skeleton watch which took three years of development – check it out below
The H08 line launched in 2021, with the luxury brand sharing: “we wanted to create a contemporary watch with a sporty spirit, firmly rooted in the brand’s masculine universe.”
The newest iteration in the line was unveiled at this year’s Watches and Wonders industry fair in Geneva, introducing the line’s first skeleton watch.

The H08 Squelette took three years of development and marks a milestone for the brand as it is a new Hermès movement, the Manufacture Hermès H1978S.
It was developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, made of titanium, and is a tribute to the creation of La Montre Hermès in Switzerland.
Two versions of the timepiece are available: the skeleton blue version and the skeleton grey version
They feature a 39 x 39 mm black DLC-treated titanium case which features their iconic geometric design. Along with a sunburst satin-brushed ceramic bezel with mirror-polished chamfers.
It follows on from the rest of the Hermès H08 collection since it is water-resistant to 100 metres and features a screw-down crown.
The dial is openworked in black with a grey transfer-printed minutes track echoing the case shape.

There is no date display on this model and when it comes to the applied numerals, they have been carved from blocks of either classic or blue SuperLuminova®.
In a press release, Hermès shared: ” [The] H08 Squelette is a celebration of transparency, technical complexity and well-balanced volumes. It is a technical feat because, despite the lightness of the skeleton work, we wanted to retain a sturdy movement whose aesthetics are nonetheless in harmony with the shapes of the case itself.”
This new-generation mechanical skeleton movement, specifically developed for this watch, is made of black PVD-treated titanium, which Hermès describe as “a lightweight, sturdy material suited to contemporary requirements.”
It features a 60-hour power reserve and has been tested to the equivalent of 10 years of continuous wear. Its semi-square tungsten oscillating weight echoes the distinctive shape of the Hermès H08 line.

In terms of strap options, there are two available for the model with blue hour-markers and three offers for the version with grey hour-markers.
A bleu zanzibar or black rubber strap will complement the model with blue hour-markers whereas the grey hour-markers can be fitted with a Dune, vert moyen or bleu abysse rubber strap.
The H08 line has been praised since it’s initial launch at the fair 5 years ago due to the more unique silhouette and the clear departure from what people expected from the brand.
That first launch featured five specific variations, and the brand has described the H08 as: ” An elegant yet ‘all-terrain’ object, a true everyday companion, even for sports. An object combining light, technical, innovative materials with a play of geometric shapes and colours.”
The timepieces in the collection have evolved alongside the modern man, fitting the intentions of the brand and resulting in new innovations which have made for some stunning options.
