Fans of the ‘Death Stranding’ video game franchise will delight in Hamilton’s latest epic timepiece.
The timepiece, based on Hamilton’s classic Boulton design, appears in ‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’, the highly anticipated sequel to ‘Death Stranding’, a critically acclaimed video game known for its cinematic storytelling and star-studded cast, including Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux.
Directed by legendary game creator Hideo Kojima, the game imagines a desolate, futuristic world where players navigate a fragmented society. In a fight to save the human race, the video game features lead character Sam again played by Reedus, who wears an in-game version of the new timepiece. The release is already touted as one of the biggest PS5 releases set to drop this year.

Created in collaboration with Kojima Productions’ Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa, who have defined the visual identity of Kojima’s games for decades, the American Classic Boulton Death Stranding 2 Limited Edition is inspired by Hamilton’s 1940s Boulton model, which has been reimagined with a high-tech, dystopian feel.

The tonneau shaped titanium case has been coated in black PVD and styled with sapphire crystals, one large and six smaller ones, for a fluid, three-dimensional look. The dial, meanwhile, is accented with grey indices, an orange lacquered seconds hand, and looped hour and minute hands that echo the sapphire cut-outs.
Kojima sees the collaboration as part of a long tradition of Hamilton’s involvement in visionary storytelling. “More than half a century ago, in the late 1960s, one of my favorite film directors, Stanley Kubrick, commissioned Hamilton to create the watch for ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’,” he said. “I feel very honored to have been able to create the watch that appears in my latest work together with Hamilton.”

Shinkawa echoed the commitment to detail. “At first glance, it may seem very simple, but when you pick it up, you will feel the extremely high-quality essence backed by Hamilton’s advanced technical and production capabilities.”
Limited to 2,000 pieces, the watch is set for release in June 2025, and is a rare opportunity for collectors to own a piece of both gaming and watchmaking history.
