Sometimes, you’ve just got to show your Peri Peri chicken some real love. This week, London jewellers A_Jewellers revealed a blinged-out Nandos carabiner clip they created especially for Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy.
The Hatton Garden-based firm, which was founded by Abtin Abbasi in 2008, has become renowned for furnishing influencers, athletes and stars of the UK music scene with extravagant custom pieces. The company has previously designed statement rings for Central Cee, iced-out pendants for WizKid and Skepta, a personalised basketball jersey chain for NBA player Tyrese Haliburton, diamond tennis chains for Chelsea player Eden Hazar, and layered necklaces for Dojacat.
The piece created for Burna Boy appears to have been a gift from Nandos – the musician recently performed at the Wireless 2025 festival and popped backstage, where Nandos was catering to musical talent. Adorned with both the Nandos logo and Burna Boy’s name, the white gold carabiner clip is totally set with diamonds and embellished with tiny red enamel chilli peppers growing on a vine. Alongside a video shared on A_Jewellers’ social media account, the jeweller claimed, “We linked up with @nandosuk to design an iced out carabiner clip for @burnaboygram to carry his mini PERi-PERi bottle”.

It’s not the first time a UK high street food chain has caused a bejewelled furore. In September 2024, bakery chain Greggs launched its ‘Baked in Gold’ jewellery line, featuring diminutive and affordable 22-carat plated jewels shaped like its signature bakes, including sausage roll stud earrings, jammy dodger biscuit locket necklaces, and a charm bracelet – all created in collaboration with British designer Dion Kitson. The range immediately sold out.
