Madison Beer has announced she has gotten engaged to NFL quarterback Justin Herbert.
In an Instagram post, the singer posted a number of pictures of the pair from the moment the Los Angeles Chargers popped the big question along with the caption: “Meet my fiancé.”
In some of the pictures, which were taken in some very green and lush gardens, Beer’s engagement ring is visible albeit slightly blurry in the close-up shots, but is clearly enormous.
While Beer has not confirmed the exact configuration of the ring, numerous jewellery experts estimate that the piece features a rare elongated cushion cut diamond that’s at least 15 carats, with a potential value of over $1 million.
The couple have been dating for just around a year after Herbert was seen on the set of one of Beer’s music videos. The “Bittersweet” star has since been seen at a number of NFL games.
Beer’s engagement follows a number of high-profile celebrities getting down on one knee.
Zoe Kravitz recently revealed her engagement ring from Harry Styles at a summer party thrown by jeweller Jessica McCormack in London.
Like Beer, Kravitz sported an elongated, cushion-cut diamond ring which is thought to have been designed by McCormack.
On the other hand, Dua Lipa received a large gold and diamond ring from now-husband, Callum Turner. Turner had the ring custom made by Italian jeweller FERA for the pop star with it featuring a central round-cut diamond weighing roughly two carats, set flush (or ‘gypsy style’) into a wide, 18K yellow gold band.
“I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me,” the singer told Vogue. “It’s nice to know the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.”
Lady Gaga, as you would expect, had a slightly more unusual engagement story.
The ‘Just Dance’ singer, who got engaged to tech founder and investor Michael Polansky last April after “a day of rock climbing”, opened up about the sweet moment on the Howard Stern radio show.
“He got me two rings, and one of them was the blade of grass and that’s the first one he proposed with,” she shared.
Lady Gaga officially debuted her fabulous diamond ring at the Venice Film Festival last year, where she premiered her film Joker: Folie à Deux. The stunning oval-cut white diamond ring is thought to weigh up to 20 carats, and is potentially worth between $500,000 and $2 million.
Previously, Gaga has been engaged to actor Taylor Kinney, who proposed with a heart-shaped diamond ring from red carpet jeweller Lorraine Schwartz. She later became engaged to talent agent Christian Carino, who presented her with a pink sapphire ring framed with diamonds.
