Back in December 2024, long before the fabulous, sun-soaked wedding photos that have lit up our Instagram feeds this summer, Dua Lipa quietly debuted a new piece of jewellery that got the internet (and us at Something About Rocks) buzzing: a chunky gold and diamond ring. Clad in a pair of glittery reindeer antlers and furry Moon Boots, the singer posed happily in a chair, the new ring shimmering on THAT finger on her left hand. Was it, everyone wondered, an engagement ring?
Engagement rumours were later confirmed by Dua Lipa herself, who revealed in a cover interview with British Vogue that she was indeed betrothed to her actor beau Callum Turner. “It’s very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever – it’s a really special feeling,” she told the magazine at the time.

Turner and Lipa went public with their relationship in January 2024, after being spotted on a series of PDA-filled dates, making it ‘Instagram-official’ last May. The couple attended this year’s Met Gala together, where Lipa sported a suite custom Chanel jewellery, including multi-layered 18k white gold and diamond necklaces.
As for that chunky gold ring, Lipa shared that her fiancé, along with her dearest friends and sister, Rina, had the jewel custom made for her, with a central round-cut diamond weighing roughly two carats, set flush (or ‘gypsy style’) into a wide, 18K yellow gold band (estimated to be worth around £25,000 – £30,000).
“I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me,” the singer told Vogue. “It’s nice to know the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.”
Now, following the couple’s weddings in both London and Sicily, new details about the ring’s designer have finally come to light. It turns out the piece is by independent Italian jeweller EÉRA, who confirmed on Instagram that it was responsible for the sculptural, architecturally-inspired design.
With its chunky silhouette, Lipa’s ring fits right in with the ongoing demand for personalised and unusual celebritiy engagement rings: witness Zendaya’s elegant East-West set, cushion-cut diamond ring by London jeweller Jessica McCormack (which also seemed to be the result of a holiday proposal), and Selena Gomez’s marquise-cut diamond ring from Benny Blanco. With great budgets and time at their disposal, it seems today’s celebrities are eschewing the old-school solitaire rings of their A-list predecessors in favour of individualistic and characterful rings that express more of their personal taste.
